That's slightly disturbing  Who ever came up with that one failed at marketing 101.

That row of building is still there...It is now known as the Watertown Aresenal Mall. Five miles away there was a Ford plant in Somerville, MA. That is known as Assembly Square Mall. The Meadow Glen Drive In, is now the Meadow Glenn Mall. The old Westboro Speedway is now, Speedway Plaza... Unfortunatley I could list many more.

This takes the cake for bad taste in off-
    target advertising! Frank Zappa and
illustrator Neon Park put their heads
together to do the below '70 album
    cover. It was about counter-culture
satire, sort of the "anti-ad"! It was a
    successful, if offbeat, strategy.

But the above ads were apparently
actual attempts to sell products. The
    people behind them shoehorned dis-
    parate visual elements/messages
together -- and missed the mark
completely! LOL! IF we can have
a Bad Taste Award on this
    thread, can I vote now???

Illustrator Neon Park did this, er, uh, parody
album cover for the 1970 follow-up to "Burnt
Weenie Sandwich" by Zappa and his Mothers
of Invention. Cover THANKS to Wikipedia, shown
here under fair-use rationale, for info only.

Yo, I defended the eclectic nature of the thread yesterday. But "vintage" is one of the few guides. What year was the Travolta movie? I don't think it's vintage -- unless "vintage" just means 2000 or earlier. Feel free to disagree, anybody. I just call 'em as I see 'em.

(Travolta as Danny in "Grease." That's vintage.)

At the time, I just figured it was a public-SAFETY kind of trendy thing.
Maybe to protect a lady's head while getting zzzz at night.
