Two of the poeple I talked while hunting this bastard down spoke of how ignorant and arrogant he was.

One was at the local parts store, he was bragging about the car to a girl who was getting wipers installed.

But what tops this is my friend Jeremy "meferflatheads" here on the hamb seen the guy getting out of the roadster yesterday and stopped him to talk about the car.

He said that the car came out of WA and that and I quote "it says ford on the front but it is a Chevy" then proceeded to open the hood to show the motor.

Jeremy thought the guy stole the car or inherited it. GOOD HUNCH.

So without the spread of the HAMB this car may have not been found in such short time and in as good of shape. I am sure the car is not as good as it was when it was stolen, BUT it is recovered.

This guy had no clue what he had stolen.

NOTE TO THE THIEVES TROLLING THE H.A.M.B......... Don't steal from Hambers, or their friends.

Great work guys. But yeah, the guy sounds like a complete idiot and all but turned himself in. About almost as bad as those guys that do blatantly illegal stuff and then post it up on Youtube for the police to see. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this idiot didn't have one up too, expect he almost sounds too stupid to even be able to accomplish that. Regardless, good outcome. Hope he does at least a little bit of time instead of just getting probation or something.

With our area, he'll probably be out too soon.

I hope the original poster will get some info from Tom the owner and follow up in the A.M. with what the thiefs story is. That should be fun.

  12. This is just really great news! A Rodder is the man. The H.A.M.B. is awesome.

I was talking to Tom's older brother today about the car. His bro doesn't have a computer so he was surprised that I knew about it. I told him it would be recovered quickly (bad news travels FAST!!) Didn't know you guys were that good!! VERY NICE work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It amazes me how stupid people are allowed to live as long as they do...................

Just got on, thought, Bloody hell, not another one gone, hope someone catches him quick and ....He's caught.
Well done to all involved, all too often it ends in tears....I hope it ends with a beating for the dickhead who stole it.

My name is Mike i'm Tom's son from WA.. Yes the car was picked up last night and brought back to the house. It's safe and sound in the garage now. He has to check the car out better today in the light but he told me it's covered in mud and dirt, and some kind of white stuff, and it isn't running right. Not sure exactly what that means but when i hear from him today i'll post up more. Hopefully they'll put the screws to the idiot and find both the trailers.. Not sure if this guy was smart enough to pull off the whole robbery or not, but hopefully they'll catch everyone who's involved.

  24. Keep us informed. Just glad it's home.

  25. Today is Randy's birthday!!! Already wished him a GREAT BDAY!!

Jeremy said he was definitely the tweaked type. I hope nothing was really damaged on the car. Keep us up.

Hopefully this luck will head east to Texas and the stolen goods there will show up soon as well.

  27. Randy Rhoades? And yeah he does sound like a tweaker.

The owner was very lucky in this case and largely due to Hambers being on the alert. Kudos to all who helped in its recovery. To bad all the stolen street rods don't have the same ending but it should remind us all that we are all vulnerable to stinking thief's. There are many devices on the market that can prevent this and if it is stolen can be recovered in a short time. As the days tick off many street rods are being stolen now and many more will be taken during the Holidays so take precaution. Whats a few hundred dollars expense to protect your ride to replacement cost if its stolen?

  30. Great news! Not many of these stolen cars get recovered. My model A pickup was stolen a few hundred miles away in Tygh Valley, Oregon back in 03 or 04...still haven't found it...been in our family since 1930.
