  1. Rocket industries is introducing 2 new wheels that might be of interest here. I have nothing to do with Rocket, just thought some might be interested;

    I don't know man, the Halibrand has been copied to death over the years. Although ET and Real wheels do it justice. I just think if I wanted a Radir Looking wheel I'd buy an original set. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for posting though.

    The Injector looks very much like the Chinese made stuff that has been on the market here for some time--sort of like a Halibrand but the holes are too big.

    I like them both, but the Strikes will probably be the wheels on my '68 Mercury, assuming that they're available when the car is done. I've always liked Radirs, but the Strikes are a lot crisper and cleaner.

    Am I the only one that think the current Radirs dont look anything like the wheels M/T made in the sixties? Not enough positive offset.

    I always liked the look of the old original 'single rib' Radir wheels but was born just a little too late to get 'em new (and they weren't all that durable or safe, saw way too many in the scrap with broken out centers)
    These Strikes look to be are about as close to the old style single-rib Radir's as I'm going to find.
    Don't care at all for the tri-rib style.

    There are a couple good looking wheels being made now, ARE makes one that looks like a Fenton Hawk except one piece, I could see myself buying a set of those. For a long time there was really nothing good looking being produced, just bling-bling SUV wheels in 22" sizes.

    Whats new about them? Looks like a copy of a Cruzer and a Radir to me.

    Think the original M/T Raders were a cast center in a chrome steel rim? maybe thats another reason why all the current copies look off?

    Heres an Ansen wheel from May '65 SS/DI ad, looks a fair bit like the new rocket wheel above.

    sorry, correction there. The M/T wheel photo is in May '65 issue, the Ansen Arrow is from the June '65 issue. My mistake.

    The main differences I can see between the Ansen Arrow and the Rocket wheel is an extra relief in the rim on the new wheel, the relief around the lug nuts, and the rib goes all the way to the end of the spoke in the newer wheel.

    And heres an ad for a M/T single rib from the same mag. Looking for more period ad photos of the M/Ts and Raders, I will post what I find.

    Falcongeorge; That ad for a single actually looks like a tri rib if you study each spoke.

    Here is an M/T rader single, these are held together with "rivets" actually called hammer-drive screws. It is marked with Rader and M/T

    2nd wheel is an unmarked tri-rib that looks just like the tri-ribs above. This wheel center has a piece of steel moulded into each spoke, then the rim is welded to that chunk.

    Also, no pic, but there is a single rib that looks 100% like an M/T single except it is marked "Radar" (with an A, not E) as well as marked "Trans American"

    When I take a really close look at the original pic, I think you might be right. Good eye, considering the awful quality of the digital photo I took of the original ad.
