Model T gospel machine, 1920's. Does anyone recognize what has he on board? I like his preaching platform - reminds me of the platforms presidents used on campaign trains, except this one is a side mount.

I think this is Rensselaer, NY and that body was used on several chassis. Eventually ended up in a lawsuit, covered in one of the car magazines.

I think I remember the law issues. Was it sold at a well known auction house as an "originally bodied" car which it was later discovered to not be?

Something like that. It was built up, and pretty well documented in photos during construction. As I understand it, once the car got offered for sale as something other than what it was, sparks flew and the stakes were high. The final result might have ended up in a museum abroad and made its way back stateside.

They were built here in New Haven, used to know old A C's grandson, they had a gold plated erector set, in a wooden box, on the floor in the cellar. Think it went to the local historical society.
