I guess you're referring to the black people in those ads. If so, you aren't at all funny.

I remember that lead free gas came out around here in 73 or 74 and was cheaper then leaded regular but when it was manatory for vehicles with catalytic convertors in 75 the price suddenly went up to more then leaded regular,I think we lost premuim when unleaded came out in stations that did not have many pumps.

T-Head, you got a source I can go to and read more about this?
GREAT pic. My dad used to work on the steel castings that went
into the undercarriage and tracks. THANKS for posting!

Okay, I spent all morning looking at '50s Cads, because the cutline
with this pic stated that Elvis brought his Caddy to the filming set
for the '57 movie, "Loving You." But the rear bumper and tail lights
    WEREN'T saying Cadillac to me!

FINALLY tracked it down, and I think it's not Elvis' car but someone
ELSE'S '57 Imperial that he's leaning on here. Kind of makes sense,
too; Elvis loved cars, especially Caddys. But he did have other
cars at times, including, briefly, a '56 Continental Mark II -- but
no Imperial I have ever heard of.

Only a few hundred of these 392-Hemi-powered Imperial
convertibles were sold, probably because of a price tag as
much as $6 grand (at least $40,000 in today's dollars, I think).
    I can't tell with this lighting if there's a faux spare-tire bulge
on the trunk lid. But I suspect this is a "Crown," the middle
Imperial model, rather than the standard "Custom" or the
top-line LeBaron (not sure if they used the South Hampton
nomenclature in '57). The 'vert wasn't available at the lowest
price level. Anyway, it's a '57 Imperial, IMHO.

Below is a nice color ad for the '57 Imperial land yacht. It clearly
shows the distinctive bumper and the signature Imperial tail light
    pods.

1957 Imperial. Demolition derby entrant's dream car. Knew a guy in the 70s who had one that lasted him three years.
