Customs rodders journal '39 ford........

    In the article on this east coast custom it states that the color is called ***an Red,is this a factory color?Ford maybe? :cool:

    I thought it was called both. 53-54 was ***ian red. In 55 it was called ***an red.

    1954 paint chip

    I could be wrong though...

    It was called Mandarin Red in 1953, Then is 54 -55 it was called ***ian Red. All buick colors.

    I thought this color could not be duplicated becouse one of the ingredients was band. or was this an old custom tail?

    1939 FORD with 1939 Merc grille (not 1940 Merc grille as is stated in the article)

    I had my 57 Ford painted ***ian red in the late 50's and saw years later that the new Volkswagons had the same color and name.
    Went home and get the gas flap door and checked it out .
    Was perfect match.

    WOW, am I delerious. I admit I don't actually read RJ, I just look at the pictures. :eek: I'm too busy reading the HAMB
     
  18. Buick had two popular colors with the customizers and hot rodders, ***ian Red, as above, and Seminole Red which was a "fire engine" red.
