It's actually the '55 Eldorado Brougham prototype. The give away is the hood goddess. The production models did not have one. It was built very late in 1954 and finished just in time for the Jan 1955 NYC Auto Show. Technically speaking Mazooma had it right :D:D:D

Lafayette ford is 2 streets over from me. I've seen the restored or reproduced car at several local shows. When the New retro look mustang came out a few years back they did one up in the same scheme. [IMG]

When I was in the 9th grade my Junior High School was across the street from the old downtown location of LaFayette Ford. I often saw Fred Lorenzen's car sitting down there while I stared out of the window while in Algebra. That car was done up in the same way as this one but with number 28. I think this car, or one like it, was down there once in a while too. This brings back some great old memories.

And, it seems Nads may have been misinformed. I have never met Mazooma, but judging from his apparent knowledge, photos and words I would not challenge him. If you are going to correct someone, make damn sure you are correct. This is like me mentioning that back in the late 60s - early 70s I raced a "Trans-Am Camaro".
They answer, "I call bullshit. Trans-Ams are PONTIACS!!".
    Okay.

Some cool bikes too! Anyone have any old pics of Evel Knievel? Thanks, Mike.

I think this is what the Beach Boys meant when they sang about a "bushy bushy blonde hairdo" in "Surfin' USA."

I think the flag man is saying, "No fucking way! Put a real seat in that thing and maybe I'll let you run it."

I ordered the 40 cars for $1. Worst case of false advertising ever. Instead of the 40 small model cars I expected. I got sheets of thin plastic with 40 cars screen printed on them. They were partially stamped so you could pop them out, then fold the built in base over and they would stand up. I guess that made them 3D.
