I think the car on the left might be a 1929 Buick.....The other two are 1930-31 LaSalle's

Moxie was the "cool" drink of the 1930's. What better way to tout the stuff than to mount fake horses on cars and drive them around? John Sargent of Littleton Mass to used to drive these cars.

Close-up of the Moxie Horsemobiles. Notice that the driver seat is actually the horse saddle, with the steering wheel extending up through the horse's neck.

As has been said many times, Awesome thread!! I am working on a model railroad, in the 50s/60s timeframe, so some of the shots in here are great for getting details of stores/houses/signage of the era. Not to mention bringing back the memories!

There's a guy not far from here that has built several moxie mobiles. He drove one through the flea market at Fall Hershey show last year. Sorry for MY misinformation about Coke, always thought it was codeine. As a kid I can remember getting bottles of the syrup at the drug store for coughs and sore throats.

I thought so...that sort of thing is pretty common around here, too

Yeah, heck, man, it's what we ALL love about this thread. :D Geesh, I ALWAYS lusted after the REAL Lionel ELECTRIC train my brother got for Christmas '55!!!

Anyway, here's a good Christmas hero: Norman Rockwell.

Santa puzzles over kid's Christmas lists in this great Norman
Rockwell cover painting for the Saturday Evening Post, 1936.
Ubiquitous as they were, Norman's paintings very much spoke
to traditional family values and culture the way it used to be.
People looked forward to the Post! And you can buy mer-
chandise with your favorite images in a gazillion places.

When we bought our 57 in 03 we shook hands with no money until we picked it up, and it was 100 miles away from us.
