  7. Looks like patches of primer. With all the flammables stored in that corner any fire would would have gone ballistic.

Amazing thread!!! Some of the coolest pics I have ever seen.:)

Not a domestic but still an interesting story. This exact car was unearthed in Eastern Europe a few years ago and is now being restored. It's car #6 of about 40 or so 1938 prototypes.

The attached pic is from a photo I have of a parade, I believe Oakland, CA, 1932. The Moxie car is behind a gasoline tanker, which is behind a flatbed truck that usually hauled a race car, but was retrofitted with a lion cage.

  21. Nice truck. Its a Dodge WC55. They were basically defunct as a military SPG by the time the US entered the war and lacked the hitting power to be useful. Most of them had their 37mm guns removed and were put back into service as WC52's. Quite rare now amongst the WW2 Dodges. I had a WC51 (same truck - no winch on the front) for about 7 years... brilliant trucks, they'll go anywhere :) There's little or no photographic evidence of 50cals mounted this way in combat though. Mostly on a pedestal mount behind the seats or a step mount on the passenger running board.
