X2 !!!!! I sure hope is gets Vintage Raced after it makes a few Concourse type shows. Beautiful rebuild! Thanks Larry you always have great taste in automobiles.
Geez yeah, Larry- what's with you and these "belly button" cars? I mean come on, EVERYbody's seen a sbc and EVERYbody's built a Deuce Coupe Thanks for the pics Larry, as always, a GREAT POST!!!
Wow... Larry, what's the story on this shop? As well, those leather seat-backs are art in themselves. Very cool car, I want one!
So, so many details to absorb. Would LOVE to see it in person! Thanks for taking the time to post all these shots. I love the vintage photos, the red shot and the apparent silver color with Mobil horses black/white shot. Curious about the current color combo...
Frank Kurtis produced some beautiful looking cars, but to me the 500X is the prettiest of them all. Does the owner vintage race this one? Has it always run a sbc? Buick Nailheads were also a popular engine choices at the time for Kurtis customers.
Thanks for sharing the photos Larry. I'm not sure of the history of that particular car but you can bet it had a long racing history and showed the "big boys" the way home more than once. Pure American hot rod disguised as a world class sports car.
That is Jason's new 'clean/assembly' building...they got tired of trying to put cars together where they build them. Jason has a huge folder that has a bunch of history and photos of it racing...I just took a sample and posted it here. Yes, it has always had a sbc.
...wait'll you guys see pics of the owners other car Jason is putting together...a 1946 Woodie that looks stock, but has a blown Hemi!
Hey thats my buddy Mike's black 57 Ford lurking in the background! He got the short end of a trade with Jim for a green '40 coupe.
Man that thing is so sexy. I'd love to flog it at Motorsport Ranch for just a day. Heel toe....heel toe. Doc.
Thanks Larry for the pics. Beautiful machine....almost looks like it could be "Little Bastards" big brother.....
I love the "Specials" from that era. Kurtis', Allards, Cunninghams, Devins ... etc are all on my "Win the Lottery List" !!!!
This is Off the-Chain!!! I have seen a lot of vintage Iron(the Glen,Monterey), But Damn, This thing looks as if it could inhale a Lister and never break stride... Thanx for sharing!
