That's not a real ad...it was in the National Lampoon as a joke, sick joke, but a "joke".
For those who don't know the National Lampoon is a satirical magazine where nothing is off-limits

Satire sometimes escapes people, wasn't Gary Panter's Hercules In the Modern World in National Lampoon?

My Dad's Royal Plum '67 SS that he bought new. The first pic is @ at my grandparent's house. The house still looks the same, but my grandparents are gone. Very sad. This car jumped out of gear, and rolled down a big embankment at a shopping center here in '72. Totalled it out. I was less than 3 years old so I can't remember this car. I came home from the hospital in it. Royal Plum was a rare color!

Various Porsche photos. 904 at Sebring DNF'd due to a failed gearbox bearing. 908, well, that was not a very successful racer, but interesting. The 906 roadster was a rebuild after a fire. And the street driven Porsches are ex-race cars, sorta converted for street use. VERY quick!!

My Grandfather Andrew J. Staysko (Canadian Pacific Railway Engineer retired 1955) and L.A Hill beside the car used by the Superintendent of the CPR Lethbridge, Alberta Division. In this picture my grandfather is taking possession of the car on behalf of the Sir Alexander Galt Museum of which he was one of its founders.

Seen here with Shirley Bassey. Rolf introduced the Wobble Board to music

(If you haven't heard a Wobble Board in use, listen to this, the song is a bit PC incorrect - so, please, bear that in mind)

Because Christmas in Australia is in the middle of Summer, he collaborated in writing an Australian Christmas Carol (again a bit PC incorrect by todays standard, but it wasn't back in the day.... 1960's)

RacerOn, that is priceless. What the HAMB and this thread are about!
Christmas, loved ones, memories, trad rods & customs.

Is there anything else that really matters?

Wow, I do feel sorry for those who don't understand the concept of satire. Are we the only one's who watched Saturday Night Live? The National Lampoon pre-dated that AND fed into the genre. Sheesh.

Sorry, Mike. I guess I saw your first post and posted a reply before I knew the whole story. MAYBE, we both should get the whole story before taking things at face value and flying off some handle(?).

The only answer is she's the sister to all these brothers in the same family..........or maybe there's a skimpier bikini clad chick just out of the frame further up the street.

    (That's my hope anyway)

Looks like the Strand in Hermosa Beach. I spent many nights there working the LightHouse Jazz club on Pier Ave.

I was thinking the same thing. The Strand in Hermosa or maybe Manhattan Beach. I know I've walked by that wall.

Wow! An early original Campus Green J-38 Schwinn Stingray! Like to get my hands on one of those today!

  24. Yeah, it's the little stuff for sure. Wife's grandparents took tons of pics & slides from the 30s thru the 60s. They were part of the estate and we've barely begun to go thru them. This was one of the slides, my wife had forgotten all about it.

The pedal car had been all but forgotten as well and was literally a barn "re-find" in her folks barn after her dad passed away in '04. It's in poor shape but still complete. It's gonna undergo a "frame-off" next summer. I'm going to use this pic as reference to bring it back to original factory condition & color. Hopefully by next Christmas I'll be able to do an updated pic of wife along with the car by the Christmas tree.

VintageAuto, have you seen the pix of Desden? I imagine you have, or you wouldn't have commented. Incendiary bombs, fire storm. Pix not pretty. Eye-witness accounts even worse. Lends a different perspective to what Wm. T. Sherman said about war. Not to say I feel sorry, as Japanese and German armies inflicted terrible pain and death on civilians too.

  28. I have a like new sand loader on display in den all i need now is the dump truck.

RacerOn, you and your dear wife have a real TREASURE there! I wrote a book on my wife's side of the family, and I THIRSTED for more pix than what they'd kept. Photos double the value of a family history! Congrats & Merry Christmas!
