    Sylvanus,
Send me what pics you have of your A/FX build and I will post them if you want. I am sure everyone here would love to see them.

Dale;I did not have my Comet at Dearborn last year.I rode back with my friend and we took his restored T-Bolt and his tribute T-Bolt that is "KRAZY",altered wheelbase, straight axle, injected Cammer, and black paint. The car is a tribute to "Snake"Austin and is as close to how his T-Bolt was before it was restored after the end of its racing life!We had both cars parked side by side and it was a BLAST trying to "explain" the cars!!There are pictures on the Thunderbolt thread on here,page71,#1406,I would post more but I barely know how to work this electronic frustration device!!I would like to have a photo of my Comet as my avatar!!I took my Comet on the T-Bolt 40th Anniversary tour along with Scrappys cammer 65 Comet. beginning to wonder if I should have taken the heater out of it. snow and ice on the ground right now so time to finally fix the linkage on the carbs. was running the front as primary but going to change to the rear and see if that helps the starting of fe. guessing since the primary of the rear carb is closer to the center of the motor it might help.

any comments from the carb guru's out there.

once the upholstery and carpet is finished in January then on the street is stays. more pict to follow as they come available.

Roy,your buddy's straight axle is WICKED! I wanted to take more pics that day,but the camera had issues.
As for getting your avatar.Do you have one you want to use? I can help you get it resized.Or I can pick a cool wheels up shot, and email it to you...Basically,it needs to be square and a certain size. It's a little harder on this website to get it to work than on HUB.

Most folks weren't even noticing the scale model he had on the cowl. Now that's cool!

I sent him several photos I had collected on the Snake Austin cars to help with the rebuild. I'm glad it turned out so well and glad that someone was able to do such a tribute to an old racer like Austin. I remember seeing him race at the Double H dragstrip in Blue Ridge, GA back then.

Guys;Jack is very proud to be able to represent Snake Austin and his T-Bolt.At the Oklahoma stop on the 40th Reunion tour Jack was presented with a plaque that was to be given to Snake[unfortunately he had recently passed].Jack worked for 3 days on the model builder to get him to sell that model when we in Carlisle,PA.!!Jack has an extensive photo album full of pictures of the bolt. Fast Eddie's 65 Comet was always my favorite. That car ran strong with the 427 wedge at a time when many Fords were running the Cammer. ROY.

For you that don't know, that car is a clone of Austins car in it's heyday. The owner has the original car and restored to back to original...then built this car as a tribute to the car's match racing days.

Dang that is a cool looking Comet. How about some engine and interior shots? I like the Cragars. They look great on Comets. That is what I have on one of my Comets. They made me a set for the rear with a custom offset so I could get a 9" in there. Brian

It ran 11.42 @ 121mph in the quarter. Still alot of room for improvement, going to work on shifter linkage this winter, see if I can get rid of some of the play in the column shifter.

Also need to work on the launchs to, not much stall, have to try and keep it from rolling in the beams, or more convertor, just dont want to hurt streetability with higher stall.

falcon428scj;out here in NHRA land an 11.42 would get you asked to leave and not come back without a rollbar[11.49-10.00]!! That is a respectable pass for a street car!!!That Comet is too nice to make into a race car!!! ROY.

Yes you are right, I was asked to leave the first track after running a 11.48. Went to another track and 11.42 was the fastest for the day, but they didnt say anything but they seem easier going there.

I am not making a race car out of it, you are correct it is too nice of a car for that, but it was built to have a little fun. Thats why I am wanting to leave it column shift, would be real easy to put in floor shifter, but would kill the look of the car. Little more convertor would help surge while setting at the red lights or in traffic, but its not bad. I have a '68 Falcon that I'm working on getting back on the track, its far more setup for the track, hopefully getting chassis upgrades this winter.

falcon428scj;If it is surging it could use a looser converter and still be driveable.I like the idea of keeping the column shifter,my buddy Phil has a low 9 second T-bolt still uses the column shifter!!! ROY.

That is awesome. I want to build a model of a certain Thunderbolt but I've got to learn more about producing decals with a printer and Print Shop.
