picked up a ford duddle bug...had all drive train and really wierd large truck style wheels on the back...gonna keep all but the drive train...any buddy need any of the stuff before i scrap it...free to good home...has banger 4 cyl minus head....and giant banjo rear axle..lemme know..thanks for your time
ford made a tractor half breed that has a 30's cowl and late 20's grill shell with a heavy duty rear axle..no cab but had a seat...its like a tractor...my grandfather had it for 55 years in a barn and i saved it from crusher...is all original and has a banger 4 cyl in real rough shape and all the heavy duty banjo style rear and tranny...just didnt want to throw the drive line away if some one needed it..I'll supply the beer and tools..you supply the muscle and your time..we'll rip it apart and you can have the treasures.
I always thought Doodle Bugs were home made affairs - a friend of mine has a small collection of Doodble Bugs and none are the same and all have some very interesting engineering.
Here's some pics. of bugs, the first one is a Worthington tractor mfg. by the Worthington mower co. out of Pa. used mostly on golf courses to pull gang mowers there were Model T, A, B, mowers, Worthington later changed to Dodge running gear. Second one is a Kit these were mfg. by several different co. Sears and Montgomery Wards I believe sold them. and of course the home made bugs usually Model A Ford but some other models like the Dodge ? Pictured here. There is a club in Franklin, N.Y. and one in NH. also.

My house is a Sears Craftsman home. Built in 1929. I have researched it and only about 50% were finished.
Here are some alternate off road styles for laughs... but they have no steering wheels! The RR guys usually call them rail cars, but when they get very small and funky they become "Critters." Gary

There's a bunch of guys (club?) around central michigan with doodle bugs, I see them at the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival show every year and a few at other places. Most are based on Model A's with shortened chassis, AA 20" wheels, etc. I'm not sure how to contact them but might be able to find out more info if you are interested. Pm me if interested Red
