Man, I had a great time!! I feel that a lot a progress was made this weekend. You guys are some go-getters and have some really awesome ideas. Racrdad, I still dig the tail light look, even though you and Rob don't. Paint the car black, paint a big yellow BAM!! on the trunk lid, paint a big POW!! on the cowl and name it ''The BAT-EDERE!!" :D:D:D:D:D:D

I love the build although I have a question, how much travel do you have in the rear end ? From the pics it looks awful close between the tire and the wheel well. I am only asking because I had an issue with my Model A truck the rear end in my truck looked far enough away but when I hit any type of pot hole or bump it would bottom out against the frame. I put a few more leafs in my spring and it help me out.

There is only about 1.5 inches right now but we are going to raise it another 1 inch in the rear. Also will put bump stops on it to avoid body / tire contact.

  6. Glad to see the project active again. Color? I vote for neon green.

Or maybe a medium grayish blue, letting the shape speak louder than the color.

It's really looking great, I LOVE the profile. I dunno, I kinda like the tailights as is, maybe some push bar/nerf bars that really do look like bats?

Awesome project, love the Edsel grille, perfect choice. I've been kicking around the idea of doing something similar, starting with a 30 A cowl that I've had around for ages. The problem here in NZ is finding a suitable donor car that is far enough gone that no-one wants a fortune for, but is not too far gone that it's not usable.

Hmmm...... Mabee the Edesl grill and the Imperial lights? Might have to mock it up! It might work due to the grill being narrower.

  20. You know? Its weird.......... and different. I think thats why i like it.

Thats what I was thinking, I hope it works out. Only time will tell. Almost got the body stripped to bare metal. Gotta get that finished and expoxy primer it then I will mock up the Edsel grille and Imperial headlights and see if it works. Keeping my fingers crossed!

This might give you an idea of how it could look. Photoshopped this version first, not sure about the proportions between the grill and lights.

Another one with the headlights a little lower,

And a third with horizontal lights.

If you have any ideas let me know and I'll try to whip something up.

Eli, that is sick! I love it! Now he has to figure out how to fit the radiator into that! That's going to be the only problem, but I think the look is going to be worth the trouble!

Yup. That's it. I like the narrow Edsel grill photoshop pics too, and I too expect to see it as a Hot Wheels!

The edsel grille gives it the finishing look. I like pic two or three of the photoshop. Great work and keep the pics coming. Any decisions on color yet.
