I recently picked up a set of Real nice Twin Blue S-W Gauges for my 34 Ford.Would like to see some pics of these gauges installed in a Hot rod please. Also does anyone know if the Fuel Sending Unit is the same standard S-W Fuel sending Unit: 240 ohms empty, 33 ohms full ?? Thanks
Oooo.....I want that full sweep oil pressure gauge. I p***ed one up last summer.... I just mocked up my set this past weekend....just welded the nasty S-W panel in. But I need two more to mount in the firewall...Wanna "donate" to the cause???
Those are nice old gauges. Love the look. I think that it should say on the back of the fuel gauge what resistance range it works with. If not there with be some numbers on there that can be referenced. Remember that they were after market gauges and SW made them for several OHM ranges to suit different auto makers.
I was just ***uming that they would take the standard SW fuel sending unit.. its stamped "D300C" "C3"
ooooh! never seen the tach! I had a 2 gauge set with the SW bracket for a while. got 2 offers on it while toting it around in my swap meet wagon. I only paid like 20 bucks. I later came across a 2 5/8" set of 2 which is the only one of that size I ever have seen. cool stuff.
Take those numbers to S/W most likely you can drop them a note on their tech line and someone can give you an answer. I have a black face S/W fuel gauge in my Willys. I would have to dig out the info on it but the simple answer is that it takes the original Willys sender. I have another in my Stude that was made to be compatable with a GM sender (early '60s).
I contacted a guy I know whos a huge Vintage SW Collector..He has old Catalogs etc..If he cant help then I will contact SW...
I also have a contact for S-W parts...he restores these old things....and is the guy I got mine from. And I need that tach...haha!
Do you have a line on anybody selling any of the Twin Blue gauges? Care to sell any of your collection?
Hey Did you guys know that Stewart Warner made a small number of reissues in 2007? http://www.maximatech.com/index.php?page=news&id=16
Missed that first time around! Blue Line, not Twin Blue. the blue line looks way darker. Like the New Green Line gauges they will have internal light socket not external side light like original so they should be easy to tell if the color difference is only in the pic of my monitor.
I think they are the same gauge except not faded thats why they look darker blue...trying to get to the bottom of this.Going to Call Stewart Warner tomorrow..
Did Stewart Warner make a Speedometer in the Twin Blue series? I have seen every other gauge in the series but never saw a speedometer.
Been looking for one for a while now..The Tach cost me a small fortune, but it looked as if were NOS.I can only imagine what the Speedo will cost if and when I find one..
Yes, Edell, I did watch that tach sell, nice grab. Anybody have a pic of the speedometer, does it resemble the tach?
