I realize that this might be fruitless, but I have seen some incredible things happen thanks to the efforts of the guys and gals on here. I am trying to find one of my late father's deuces. He built it in the mid-to-late fifties and I believe he sold it in the early sixties in or around Muncie or Indianapolis, Indiana. It was originally bronze and in its last version before he sold it, I believe it was light gray or white. It had several motors and I think that it had a smallblock in it when he sold it. It also had a polished firewall and white tuck & roll. It also had some cool exhaust outlets in front of the rear wheels. The car had moon discs on it in its last iteration. If anyone (especially in Indiana or Ohio where I have heard it may have gone) out there knows or may know where this car is or was (obviously I have assume that it has been changed quite a bit by now) OR think that you might know who may have owned it at anytime, I would GREATLY APPRECIATE hearing from you...even hunches are appreciated!!! Eric 847-922-3813 (Illinois) Merry Christmas to all! If it helps, my Dad was a member of the Muncie Rod Benders, Delaware County Timing Association and was the founder of Muncie Dragway (he sold this car to fund it) Thanks to all!
That's a fairly distinctive front pan below the grille in the middle pic, and the taillights are like nothing I've ever seen before either. Unfortunately, both of those things are fairly easy to change if the next owner didn't like them. Dad's got an unchopped five-window body in brown primer out in the barn. Maybe I'll sneek out there with some sandpaper to see what's underneath......
Awesome..much more than I deserve! How the hell are you , Trent??? I would give both nuts to find my Dad's car!!! Don't know if I could afford it, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it!!!!
Cool, got one wheel ready and gotta break a tire off another for you! Called your pal the other day but he was out. Will try after the holidays.
I would take a crappy Christmas if it meant you found your dads old car! Looking for years for dads 70 F85, his Factory Olds ride so I know what it means.
Shot ya a PM with some info and a phone number and name, give him a call, he has a 32 might be worth a try.....Jim
I hope you can find the car, I always enjoy these "Were is it Now" questions, think I'll post one later today. Best wishes for 2011! Bob
Thanks, Bob! I thought I would post this thread over this weekend given all of the HAMBERS who I expect to be on here. I look forward to your thread! Best wishes to you and yours in 2011. Eric
I just printed out your text and pics of the 32 and put them up on the wall in our chrome shop office. Our more experienced customers know a LOT about this area's car past, so I have a hunch one of them will know something about that car. Our shop is about 30 min. from Muncie and we have a lot of customers who live there. Good Luck! edit: If I could get his name, that may help spark some memories.
Josh, Thanks for your help and sorry about not seeing your post! My Dad's name is Doug "Rick" De Bord. I truly appreicate your help and I have a "finder's fee" ready for those who can help!!!! Thanks!!! Eric
I have seen a 32 with those tail lights mounted in the same spot somewhere but my memory fails me on where.
