History Drag cars in motion.......picture thread.

Here a couple that my buddy "Slingshot392" sent me last night...

 

What's the story here? Someone wanted to test his new T-bird against a real race car? I love this photo!

 

I believe it was new in 1967, repainted as the rainbow car and finally, orange as as backup in his Dodge Transport with the Corvette on top.

 

Pitts64, i don't know here's the other pic that was with it............maybe someone thought it was fun to have their picture taken with a car called 'Dragon Lady'

Not in motion, but pretty cool. This is the former Hayden Proffit car. The picture was taken in Canton, Ohio, during its time as the McCoy Mercury car. The car made it back to Stark County, Ohio, in the 1990s where it was meticulously restored back to its original Hayden Proffit days. Last I heard, Guffy purchased it.

What's the deal with Garlits' front tires in the picture above where he's approaching the rollers? I've never seen any that color except on a Schwinn.
