Haha - I liked it too, the area around the grille needed to be reworked and by the time I got it all apart I just decided to go back stock.

Thanks Glenn, drivetrain was in it when I traded Jaker for it, SBC/AT. Goes down the road nice though...

Looks really good man. I like the bull nose on the hood and am a fan of the stocker grille also.

That 50 grill looks so good. I am wondering if it's one of the new re-pro ones? Looks great.

Real paint makes all the difference in the world.

    ***Y!

Gator told me it was Bob Drake "seconds" sold on ebay.

Just some minor waves in the chrome, but half the cost.

Really a sweet color no doubt, i'd like to see it w/ bupers and gl*** on too.
But honestly i loved the 53? chevy grille w/ the gold thoot. Of course its just my opinion.
    Car looks great anyway.

Man the shoebox is looooking gooood. Love the color. Think the white interior and gold paint go great together. It's coming together really nice.

Nice shoebox. I like the color. The pearl makes for a great finish.
Was that the shoebox that Bleed chopped on Mad Fabricators for Jaker ?
Will make a good cruising car or show .

Yes it is Dave - it's in episode 3. Bob also does donuts in it for like 15 minutes before he chops it - haha.

    Tastes change over time.

In the early '60s, no car guys in northern CA kept their 49-50 grill. There was even a cheap aftermarket filler for the sheet metal and upper bar center to clean it up and get that ugly single bullet notch out of the hood. Fifty four Chevy, '54 Pontiac, and '55 Plymounth grills were all preferred replacements to that ugly bullet grill. ...but folks would run with no grill before they would run the single bullet.

But now the stock look is back in. I still have the stock grill in my '51, but I have always liked the '51 double bullet grill much better than the single bullet anyway. The single bullet grill was equated with the Studebaker look that no one wanted either.

To each his own. ...looks great either way, particularly when compared to any car produced since the '80s.

Got the side and back gl*** in it, had to take the windshield gl*** back and have it trimmed -for some reason it didn't match my patterns exactly.

    Thanks!

Got the shaved front bumper back from Ogden chrome today, and I gotta say they ROCK!!!

40StudeDude (Roger) recommended them and now I do too. I called Charlie just before Christmas - he sent me a Fedex call tag the next day. He said it would take longer than their usual turn around because of the holidays - still only took a couple of weeks and the chrome looks great and the price was $100 bucks less than any of the prices I got - even with shipping it both ways.

    www.ogdenchrome.com - or 1.800.453.3007 ask for Charlie.
