I would have sent the Large bills but Santa rolled me up pretty hard this year, pretty sure he broke one of my legs.

Dale;did you get the 164 tooth flywheel to go with the bigger bell?I ran into an issue where the flexplate only had two holes for the converter drain plug, where the old one had four so we had to be sure to index the converter.44,I can't remember back that far!!!! ROY.

Here is Sylvanus Pierce' current Comet build, as he got it. I am sure he will give details if anyone is interested. I know car is almost ready for paint.

Ken, Ken, Ken.... Scaring that little girl and her dog at the start, was just not right.

Your car looks and sounds perfect, but those tires seem to lack some traction, haha. It's been real fun watching you, build that car, from start to finish. You should be proud!

But, as Jody and Roy made mention, How do you plan on getting these cars to shows and races, and storing you other dozen?
I am hated by my neighborhood, because of the cars I store outside, and I live in No-Where Colorado! The BOONIES. where it's 10 degrees colder, and always snowing, Damn it!

    Again, nice job,
    Eric

Yup! Just came in from a couple hours in the garage. What a good nights sleep, and a day at the shop'll do for you!! I dropped out Ernies convertor, and ground off the tack welded spacers, smoothed it all down, and re-installed the whole shebang. It fit like a glove, and not tight like OJ's either!! I had a weak quarter inch space between the flexplate and the 'vertor, and I gently nudged it up. dThis flexplate was the original one we built with the engine, so I made sure I had all the holes correct. !!She's all bolted up nice now!! One more evening, and it'll be back to terrorize the community! Can't let Ken have all the fun !!!!!

A fellow Hamber and Comet A/fx Junky has asked me to post some of his pictures on the thread so that we can all can enjoy. sally5994 who is the current owner of the Shake Rattle and Roll A/FX Comet wrote me and said he had pics of one of the elusive Factory 64's thats been missing from my list.

The Yankee Lincoln Mercury A/FX comet out of Seattle,Wa.

Awesome pics that have never been seen before.

Also fastenating is that the Yankee A/FX comet is one serial number higher than the Shake Rattle and Roll A/FX Comet and the Laughlin Miles Lincoln Mercury A/FX Comet is one serial Number below the Shake Rattle And Roll A/fx Comet.

    Thanks for sharing Jack

Eric;Ken needs to get a 50 foot enclosed stacker and drag it behind his tractor!!! Of course that only gets FOUR of his cars trailered!! So you guys have code nazis up there too, they are EVERYWHERE!!!! Ken needs to come up with a name and logo for his team and have the trailer done in a wrap to show up the 422 guys!!! ROY.

  17. Ken the 65 is just right, great job and keep those old pics coming. Where did the Yankee Mercury end up.

Roy, that is a perfect idea! As long as Ken foots the entire bill, I will allow him to drag my pig (Galaxie) along. Although. I think 4400lbs is asking alot, of his fuel bill.
Yes, we suffer the code nazis here as well. I moved to Elizabeth, to escape their torture in yuppy filled Littleton, but they followed me.
At least now, they fear the 2 English Mastiff's, that patrol the property.

Ken, on the other hand, is trapped, and will soon, feel the rath of those A-Holes!

Eric;we live in the land of the free,as long as we follow ALL the rules!! It would be great to have 40,000 square feet of enclosed storage and work space, but then somebody would still complain!!!! I have some friends that rent commercial space to house-work on their projects that get harassed about business licenses, they are strictly hobby shops!!! ROY.

I found a way around the code spies (at least it works in MD). I registered my cars with "historic" plates (I think it costs like $28 per year). I keep the outdoor projects under car covers with historic plates showing. As long as they get their $28 a year they leave me alone. Fortunatly my neighbors all help with the cars from time to time (amazing how much community spirit you can buy with a couple 12paks of beer) so I don't get any neighborhood complaints.

Roy/MD1320, I'm the guy with the Keg in the frig, and I am real generous with boozing my friends and neighbors up, but in that mix, is someone who rats me out, for working on cars, with out a busines liscense, They are my cars!!!
I have a 1500 sq ft building, and a 3 car garage, but I need more. I see a 50X100 in the near future, depending on my lotto results.

Roy, there are a number of hot cars in the hood, but were all spread way apart. Beckers SOHC Fastback, 2 69 Hemi Road Runners, (Same owner) 69 TA, 69 BOss (. 62and 63 Vettes, 69 Cougar 428SCJ, and more. But plenty of anti car, yups messing up the plan!

I have a friend, he and several of his Army buddies all bought houses in the same development when they got back from Nam. For over 40 years they have helped build each others cars (kinda like Amish "barn building". There is one little old buisybody lady from 5 streets over who walks the neighborhood with her little "Frufru" sticking her nose in everybodys yard and calling the "Nazis". It took almost 6 years to find out who it was. They started turning her in for not picking up after "Frufru". After a while, she started walking another area. No more trouble.

I took a "volunteer" job with my city, on our water commission. Our home is on the road to one of the city yards, and I always make time for the crews as they drive by, whether its a wave, or they just stop and check out the rides. So far, we've had two MASSIVE car related BBQ's, almost shutting down the street. It does pay sometimes to make yourself "visible" to the city management, and personnel. Should not have to be this way, but where I live it works. I've never had issues with my community.

I feel the bad weather pain, Mercury brother! The Rocket sits as well, waiting for its next pass at the track ,as well as on the street! I fired it all back up, no leaks, and tried to footbrake stall it after a good warm-up on the jackstands. Torque convertors are such voodoo science. Maybe a trans brake will be in the near future, I'm just not sure. Only track time will tell. I did find a bit more throttle, due to a stretched cable. That ought to be worth about 500 more h.p. !!!:D
