GREAT thread! i love this era, there is just something pure and unspoiled about most customs from that time.

Damn, any more pics of this? Looks like a '40 Chrysler, just like mine. I really like the teardrop skirts on it. I could make my car a clone of this one, if there was any more info on it.

Link Paola parked his customized 40 Ford in front of the new Ford dealership the day 40`s were officially releaseds. The dealership made him move it because it was getting all the attention. He bought it after it fell off the delivery truck. It`s pictured above.

  6. I cant wait till I get to go to a show and see cars from this early era of customs. These really are what its all about.

Jumped back on this old subscribed thread and really would like to see modern built (last 15 years) kustom cars with the correct style. Stance, accessories etc. And preferrably the correct drivetrain, axles, brakes... But instead of hi-jacking this thread which has got all the old great pics, I have started a new thread with period-style 1948-52 kustoms built within the 10-15 years range. Hope to see you there!

I'd posted this photo my father in law took in Socal, December 1950 on another thread without knowing the car.

Then I got a PM from Rik about it.

Look for his thread about his buddy Palle buying it and taking it home for resurrection.

I love this thread! I found this one by accident but it is what I want to do to my hudson. I am looking for some inspiration. I Really want that 40's look. The way it would have been done. Information like motor/trans combo colors things like that are what I am looking for. Also, any pix of hudson customs. I have seen the few that rik has, but am looking for somethin more like the sectioned coupe he has pix of? Any help here?

Link to the thread if anyone cares to look at what I want to do.

  22. I have thought that this was Al Andril and Johnny Zaro the whole time. I love the straight post or slightly angled.

Rik,. I like the 41 chevy, never seen that one I will have to meet you at the GNRS, and show you the 41 ford that Steve Sanford is doing for me now a 41 ford coupe chopped, with full fadaways I sure you will dig it. But I need to find if caddy caps or one bar filppers would more suiting for the car Iam trying to keep everything pre 48 on the car. thanks Rik
