I was at the Rose Bowl last year when it flew in low for the national anthem flyby. Very cool.

I was waiting for it outside in just my t-shirt (and pants:rolleyes:) and it was pretty chilly, but the sun was just warm enough to heat me up for the ten minute wait.
Anything below 50 here and everyone losses their mind.

So, that means that flat black carbon fiber bodies are now "traditional"? Maybe if it had some wide whites....

Actually, most of the $737,000,000 went towards the hammer. If you're old enough to remember that fiasco.

    Sweet pictures man.

I just checked the weather and its 30 below zero. It warmed up a bit in the last couple days. It was right about 48 below zero with the wind chill hitting the 70-75 below zero mark.

I know someone who worked on them years ago. Very interesting technology.

The blue sky thing gets on my nerves after a while, a good rain storm is a nice break.

In truth the actual fly away cost FOB the Northrop ***embly plant in Palmdale, Ca. was a little less than double the cost of a 747, (about $437M each) which is extremely cheap considering this aircraft's capabilities. Its the way Congress calculates the cost that really throws everyone off and makes it sound so expensive. They add in the R&D costs to develop the technology (which is shared with a host of other development programs) and then spread that cost over the number of aircraft purchased, which in this case is a reduced purchase quan***y of only 21 of the original 133 aircraft ordered. So according to the politicians the cost of each B-2A is around 2.2 billion which is pretty much a bogus number. I spent 9 years on the government side of this program before I retired and just so you all know, the information included in this post is part of the public domain.

I have worked at a airforce base ALC for 11 years and still have not seen one. People still like to watch a B-52 take off they are still pretty awesome!! The B1B is one load mofo I must say for sure. I used to work in a steel yead that was next to the flight line and could not even hear myself think when a B1 would take off.
