I have found a set of original 32 headlights and want to know the best way to really get some light out of them. I rebuilt mine on my sedan with halogens but they still don't throw out much light. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Like I told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, its just like OKC, it ****s!"
I use a set of the NEW Bob Drake headlight reflectors. He had them designed by a lighting engineer and they do work good. A lot better than the halogen conversions of the past. I also went to a set of Sylvania SilverStar H4 bulbs. A new more efficent design. NOW ... I can run down the interstate beside my wife in her new DTS Cadillac and my lights illuminate the road as well as her Cadillac. Bob Drake runs the headlight reflectors for a hundred dollars every so often. The SilverStar bulbs run about 20 a piece ... but well worth it IMHO.
I am using 30/31 headlights on my roadster and run the haligon bulb through fluted lenses. They are really bright. Key is to have a new/polished reflector.
I run Silverstar bulbs in 682c's .They also make an 1157 taillight bulb that makes as much light as halogen ones.
