Dale;this Thursday looks good,no rain scheduled. Are you running a pcv system? The engine is probably building enough crankcase pressure to force oil past the breathers.I had a similar issue a million years ago,was running two vented breathers,no pcv system, blew out the front seal!!That was on my 289,4-speed with a 3.80 gear, not spinning nearly as tight as yours!!What is Steve holding?I think I've been to that pizza joint after a trip to Robert Pond's home!! Roy- its the book he wrote, that I step-by-step built the 'Rampage Dart, as wells as the "FunnyFairmont" in. How to build an Altered Wheelbase Car. Barnes and Noble just started carrying his next book, on rusty garage and junkyard crawls too.

Petrillos Pizza was orginally out in San Gabriel, CA. My father and uncle grew up with the son, Chris, oh so many years ago. Back in the seventies, they all "partied" together under a big pepper tree, and us kids would just run around and play hide and seek in the avocado groves. The pizza there is as good today as it was back then. It was fun watching Steve scarf down on his own!

Won't a PCV system grossly contaminate the intake charge? Or is just negligable, and won't effect it? Because its mostly street/strip, I'd rather do it this way, but was weary.

Myron- was that your website that you linked me to the other day??

Dale;I think that is the pizza joint.Does it have racing stuff inside? I did some tests back to back at the track and the pcv system didn't make any performance changes!!My 289 was a legal Stock Eliminator engine[back in the stone age],cheater cam,F4B manifold[painted Ford blue],flat top Ford four barrel and 11/2" Kustom brand headers.I really like the way Steve flys by the seat of his pants,SCREW tradition!!! ROY.

I've been wondering what to do with my Cyclone when the time comes and the way I see it is (stock isn't an option), I can build a drag car or a street car. Abuse it one day out of the week or enjoy it seven....I like the route you took. Different strokes for different folks but I want my car to be a street car even though it was a drag car...but it will still look like a drag car.

The way I figure,if you have to play with toy's.....it might as well be Comets!

Messing with some wheel/tire combos. Not to mention colors!
    Which do you favor?

I know everybody has their own opinion, but I was wondering what the general consensus would be to this question. If you had to put a glass hood on a 1964 Comet, would you use the teardrop, the dual snorkel,or a combination of the two?

I like the teardrop on my '64 with the later fenders ( no chrome trim piece). Syl

Just my opinion but on a 64 I like the teardrop. The later[64] Comets had the forward scoops so I guess it would depend on personal choice. ROY.

ClearSpot...I never was one for the steel/mag mismatch. Although, as tires got wider sometime stretched steel wheels were all that was available. Cragar S/S or steels all around for me.

Can't go wrong with the steels.
For me,I don't mind seeing the mismatch's.It was a period thing I guess....

Its hard enough to see past the front of the hood right now!!! Gawd, I love the look of the teardrop, but love the clean lines, and the ram air potential, of the dual front air pick-ups!!!! I like 'em both!!!

I"m still tweaking on the Comet, but the combination, at least with the suspension , I think it surpassed what I wanted for driveability. Its just waaay more fun than we ought to be able to have to drive it. The Dart was great, but this one is just such a little screamer on steroids, that you can drive the kids to school in. We'll be doing THAT next week!! Sister Superior with probably outlaw me from the parish after I pull this stunt in the car line next week !!!:D

I was going to go with a teardrop hood on my car but sold it. I figured I'd rather go with a stock flat hood in the way the car was originally raced.

yes for sure it will make it's painted and lettered first outing at the detroit autorama, then as many tracks as money permits this summer. i am hoping after a few runs to get some tires and other sponored stuff thrown my way. either way looks like its gunna be a fun spring and summer.

layed some candy brown on the ranchero push car this past weekend. going to finish it off with gold flake and lettering to match the comet.
