  2. A long damned time. I used to be slow movin' no its like I'm going in reverse.
I might have it fired by fall, if I get myself motivated.

Well, hopefully 4-5 months but that always translates to 8-10 months. But when I say done I mean upholstery and all...everything!!!!

After that I'm starting on my '33 and hopefully I can fumble through that in about 203 years.

I need to have mine driveable by May, otherwise it will go into storage for who knows how long. It has to make a trip from Tucson to San Diego, then it will be freighted to Okinawa. Needs tires, rewire, headlights, tail lights, brakes and the ignition system needs to be properly tuned. I'll install at least one seatbelt too. After that I don't think I'll ever finish.

  10. Are they really actually ever "Finished"?...

I'd be satisfied with drivable! I have about 4 more miles of weld to lay, plumb fuel and brakes, wiring, bodywork...... But everything is tacked together and mocked up. Thats gotta count for something!!

My goal is driving by October, but my daughter will be born in March... That October deadline might be NEXT October.

Just fired mine up after sitting for over twenty years. I'm hoping to have it ready for VLV 11.

Mine will be done Feb 31st

  23. I have learned finally not to think in those terms. Do i enjoy the project? Do I like what it will be. Am I having fun? If I get done too soon i will just have to get another project. If I dont work on it it is in the way. somewhere in middle without a target date is where enjoyment is. Date raise the cost and lower the fun.

My current project is a '29 closed cab pu I started on early June 2010. It is a rebuild/ freshening up of a car I did 18 years ago. It is running and on the road, only a short list of minor fixes that came up after getting it running again, plus making dash knobs and a small storage box. Maybe I'll be done by March, at my pace. Push it and it could be done this month, but that will never happen.

Well my 49' 3100 project is a lot closer than it was, I got a donor for xmas (non HAMB friendly ) and managed to get it running today after it had sat for almost a decade.

I'm in one of those cycles, my last job paid well but I had zero time to work on anything and now I have tons of time and no money. :p
