If its the Grease Monkeys garage in Dallas area he usualy sells through ebag at very inflated prices. Any way you look at it it's a cool looking car.

I'd fly out if they promised to put me on stage. I'd dress like that kid in the mall scene from 'A Christmas Story' and when they hand me the mic I'd say, "I like the 'Wizard of Oz'!".

I hope the Punk gets some decent airtime!

Really I was wondering how all of the "re-selling" of this car was working out. I guess it won't be known but are gold chainers buying the eye candy and then flipping it....win or lose? Or is there money being made?

The guy that bought it from Aaron probably lost his ass on it after he set it on fire and had to pay to have it fixed. He probably sold it pretty cheap to Gas Monkey so he could get out from underneath it. Now they are taking it to BJ where it will probably be auctioned off at "prime time" on Saturday and some fool will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for it. Then BJ makes a lot of money, the seller makes a lot of money, and the new owner will never get his money back out of it.

    Thats it???? :D

Actually if I was loaded with $$$ I would buy it and buy all of the remaining stock of T Shirts. Then I would do a big ole burnout in it down my driveway and throw free T Shirts to all the neighbor kids! I have been called a dumbass once or twice though......

Well please keep me posted guys. I got pissed off at my expanded cable during the last election and cut my service back to basic so I wouldn't see CNN, FOX and MSNBC.

I wouldn't want to take the gamble selling a car down there with that crowd. Didn't that "loaded" rpu built by Pinkees only bring 150 grand or so? That was a bargain. I recall that all aluminum model A truck that Coddington built only brought around 86 grand down there. I thought that thing was cool. Too much at risk for me to take a gamble. Hot rods never seem to bring much money down there. On a rare occasion a Zephyr or Airstream will bring the bucks, but those cars also had a quarter mil or more in the build.

Anderson hit the nail on the head. There are some winners and some losers in the game and common sense of the buyer has nothing to do with it. I guess we will wait to see how the auction turns out for me to tell you how I came out.... maybe I sold it too cheap, maybe not.

I am pretty sure that if I called up Barrett Jackson a few weeks before auction time wanting to put it in at prime time Saturday night they would laugh at me. I am not sure how much of a premium it costs to have a car sell at prime time, but it probably isn't cheap. Dennis is taking a gamble putting it up for sale there in these economic times. The Ralph Whitworth auction is definitely an example of that. I would like to see the thing bring 100 g's unless Doc is bidding, then I want him to win it for 30. ha ha I think a realistic estimate will be around 80-90 grand but what do I know?

All I know is that the guy I sold it to sure set them up for a win with the new paint job and all (I am pretty sure his insurance paid for it). Dennis e-mailed me and told me they are detailing it out and having the headers rechromed plus they readjusted the carbs and got it running in tip top shape. It will probably be nicer and cleaner than when I owned it. There will be 10 grand worth of work done to the car since I owned it with the fresh paint job and all. I did suggest that they put clear red plug wires back on it. I don't think the BJ crowd cares about things like that though.....

Maybe some eccentric guy will buy it and put it in his back yard and fill it with mayonaise or something cool like that. We could only hope. I think the wierd stories about the Punk need to continue.

I did tell Dennis that I might be willing to go down there for the sale. I am not sure if that would be a good thing for them or not. ha ha He did say that they will be handing out Atomic Punk trading cards at the show. Be sure to get one if you go.

I love that car! I remember on our way back from Bonneville in 07..Aaron gave me specific instructions on where to stand outside his garage.."stand RIGHT THERE." I stood outside of his closed garage door while the curtain went up. Slowly the Punk appeared before my eyes, unfinished in al its bare metal glory. I was in awe. Then I got to shoot it for Rod and Custom's cover and feature... bu th best part was hearing it fly up and down the road. that car rules. Aaron is a talented man for sure.

I seem to remember reading a post about the Atomic Punk being sold and heading to Tx...said it was one step closer to being found sitting in frt of a porno shop in Mexico. That's some funny shit. I remember that old pic but didn't save it.

Maybe Hef will remember the good times at the mansion and buy it for his new bride. He can stick it in the grotto and fill it full of little blue pills.
