Let me throw my two "pfenning" in. I saw this at a car show in Lakewood, Ohio last Summer. I was just salivating! Had a big honkin' mill shoe-horned in it.

My garage buddy is building one wild 444 coupe with -46 Volvo front fenders. He also have an old Hunchback that's been on the roads for a year now. The 444 will be out of this world. He'll kill me for showing these photos...

 

the post where they are going to the swap meet in the rusted out one, that's got to be one of the best posts on here, old cars, having fun, they do know what it's all about over there. That looks like a blast.

 

I seem to remember reading in a classic car mag,that Duetts were chopped into pick ups so that 15 /16 year old kids could drive without supervision, i.e. classed as a tractor or farm vehicle in Sweeden. Is this another urban myth?

Its a 66 122,has a B20 with weber carbs,ipd's torque cam.Thats about all the mods for the engine,Im aching to throw a turbo in it.Either swtich to a B230FT or convert the b20 to take a turbo and FI.It does have bags,accuair's valve is what Im using.Here are some other photos.Thanks for the comment on her.

 

No, not a myth. The traktors are exactly that. Can only seat two and are speed limited but you are allowed to take them off the farm, so teenagers can have some fun.

Nice Amazon. Much easier to pop in a B230FT than to turbo a B20. You get a little more displacement and an engine designed to be turbocharged. Get a late block (93+) and it comes with oil squirters up under the pistons. For a more traditional ride, there are Judson superchargers out there that will bolt to a B20.

 

This car is striking, just beautiful. Sure wish they made them like this. I'd have to buy one. Gary

Thanks for the info.Ive searched the net relentlessly looking for as much info as possible on a b20-230ft swap in a amazon.Same with just turbocharging a B20,do you have any links or more info on how its been done?

Here in Sweden there are alots of turbocharged B20 engines, its a really hard engine to kill so if its fresh from the start there is no problem with it.. Fitting a B21/B23/B230 whatever aint such a big deal either but you maybe have to cut and weld the torpedo a little, work on the beam that holds the gearbox, and make a custom driveshaft..

You've got a bad-ass Amazon , DE79 . It photographs well too ! I've enjoyed the hell out of each one I've owned .

 

Yeah it was at a big car show (ROD RUN) in pigeon forge Tennessee in 09
it still has the 4 cylinder in it but its still cool, those headers etc arent mounted to an engine.

Damn...that Volvo looks great! You kinda got me thinking...I found locally one '65 131 and I am really thinking of buying it...

 

My first ever Volvo experience was driving a 122 coupe and I was very impressed and an instant fan. They really slammed that little wagon in the vid, some fun unusual peeps at the great old Volvos. Thanx! ~sololobo~

 

Do a google on 1927 volvo, you will find this car. '27 is the first year, looks a lot like Dan Webb's car. I love it, it's on a calender at work.

Very true indeed! My first ride was a 1965 Duett epa/a-traktor.. Got it on christmas when I was 14 and it was rusted like shit, smashed in the front, no front window.. Total mess!


By the time I was 15 I had fixed the rust and pretty much everything like brakes, clutch, engineswap and so on! Great learning experience


Then a little later on it evolved into this thing that included paint by myself, red 15" steel rims with moroso drag special diagonals in the rear and teardrop lights and so on
