I would like to go but will be spending most of the weekend trying to find another daily driver to replace the one that got totalled last week,I dont have any thing I could drive down that will handle extra passengers and since we have snow and none of the old cars will be on the road as I dont want to have to replace them too since the idiots are out.

I had fun. Now I gotta look up this indianapolis swapmeet!

  24. Just got home from the show. Thought that overall it was a very awesome event. Definitely something for everyone.

  25. i guess i must of been at a different calvacade of customs the one i went to had very low attendence (people) very few vendors , and a very low car count

what happened to the rule they used to have that the cars had to start and drive in the building to be in the show? most of the "alley" cars were just mock-ups

if it wasnt for stopping and looking through all the die-cast cars, and videos at a few vendors and taking some pics me and my friend could of walked the whole show in less then an half hour

    again to each thier own

7 cars of the 68 that were in the Survivors alley were "Mocked up" and didn't run, HARDLY "most"...

Survivors alley is for HOT RODS. Old unrestored and restored race cars that have Survived. Traditional style HOT RODS and the basic RAT RODS. VERY FEW CUSTOMS will ever be in that display. If it's a 60's car it's a Drag car.

The crowd was down Friday night due to the weather. Sbow and Ice closed the main interstate through Cincinnati (75). Saturday however, was the the biggest attendance they have had in 5 years. OVER 20,000 people through the door.

The indoor cavalcades ARE NOT shows for "Car people" only.. They are designed to bring in the everyday public that may not ever go to a car show the rest of the year. That is why there is the BMX "crap" and the Fonz and Billy the Exterminator there.. and, like it or not, IT WORKS!

The car count was held down this year to keep from flooding the hallways with cars. Every other space in the show that was used last year was udes this year.

No, you could not have walked it all in a Half hour. I walked it Friday morning at 8 am when it was still closed.

All I can say is, what you said, to each his own. Build one of your Fords and bring it next year if your not happy with the cars there.

All the HOT RODDERS that I talked to were very happy with the cars there.

  27. lets see we pulled in the parking garage at 1030 am and were leaving the garage at 200pm and saw everything twice at least

how is a car a survior when it is a cut down 4 door turned 2door 5 window mock up ?

last i heard a survior is a car that is mostly untouched from a previous era

the crowd on saturday must of showed up after 2pm usually when im there taking pics i have to wait and wait to snap the shot (every car) i only had to wait a couple of times for people to move saturday

the car that goodguys ( i believe) voted hot rod of the year last year sat upstairs with no one even paying attention to it

i remember the first cavalcade i went to somewhere between 79-81 (the general lee was there) i was a 9-11 year old there were 3 floors( main floor, second floor, and the basement) of cars and a small swap meet in the basement
and the main floor had cars almost wall to wall
    ive been to everyone since

then if its not for car people dont call it a car show call it a lifestyle show or something ohhhh i know call it a KULTURE show

and the only 49-51 merc there that i remember was sitting there being ignored as well

why do some of the vendors find it nessasary to park thier semis 40 foot trailers and all inside the building that is nothing but wasted space

before long you'll be able to call it the KOI trade show with afew cars thrown in

the biggest attraction that i saw there was the teeny-bopper girl from I-CARLY i think that was one of the longest lines ive ever seen at the show

yes ill be back next year to break up the winter blahs

none of my cars will ever be in that show out of personnel prefrence

ive got friends who have displayed cars there one of my friends was displayed on the third floor this year (yellow 69 roadrunner convert )

    Josh,

Thanks for the work you did putting the "alley" together. I enjoyed the cars that were in that section very much. It was worth the three hour drive for me.

  30. We got here about 2pm on Saturday. The place was packed with cars and people. from the time we got there until we were literally asked to leave @ 10:45pm. there was still cars, displays, pinstripers etc that we did not get to see. Like a stated before, great show.

Josh, nice area. Good selection of entries, ya done good.
