Exactly..it looks really good though, no dirt

    Thanks Andy!

Hoping to have it ready by the violators show in early May

I mixed up some light green I got from the paint shop with some black I had on the shelf...it's kind of an early 40's stock Ford color that I was shooting for. I then painted the frame and had the paint shop match it and mix a gallon for the body.

Thanks..lots of work in that with my friend Koz

Tonight I started to sand the fins on the backing plates which I'll then polish on the wheel. I'll be doing the drums next. The backing plates and hubs are from Wilson Welding in Texas, really well made high quality stuff.

Found some neat trim pieces that I'm going to incorporate into the door garnish moldings. A little splicing and dicing underneath and a few tacks here and there and there one piece. When painted it should like something from factory. The side roll on the garnish molding really matches the raised rounded lines of the trim piece pretty well.

I was unhappy with how the dash was fitting and made some adjustments today.

I took a stock 29 dash rail and cut the front off leaving me with the top strip of metal which sits over the cowl area. I trimmed that down a little and took about a 1/4 off the back of my 36 dash. I piecutted the front of the dash in two places along the top so the dash would flatten out a little and would butt up evenly with edge of the dash rail. I tacked it up, fitted it, and welded it down the seam. A skim coat of a filler over the weld seam where the two pieces mate and you'll think it was once piece. It now slights about a half ince further out in the passenger compartment so I had to make and weld in dash sides so you wouldn't see a plain exposed edge

    cut down and tacked together

I noticed that too, but didn't have the balls to mention it. I wonder if he's going to have the balls to show it to her! :D

    Some more progress.

Got the call that my driveshaft and drums are ready from the machine shop. I'll pick them up sometime this week and put them on.

Gearsforguts came over today and we got all the brake plumbing done. AutoZone is carrying this new brake line that is copper colored which I used for the front and rear areas that you see. The middle lines are the green colored ones. I was going to go all copper but they are about twice as much in price...so I just used them on the areas that you see. Mounted the brake pedal and master cylinder in for good now after some tweaking of the pedal rod.

Turns out I had a warped water pump pulley so I swaped on another one that I had on the shelf.

I painted my radiator support brackets and reinstalled the radiator for good now.

Dash, visor, and side aprons are painted.....the body shell will ready soon too.

Sorry for the shitty cell phone pics

Man that maroon and blue looks classic together. I can't wait to see it with the upholstery in. The body and paint is coming out a hell of a lot better than I thought it would. I'm now thinking the top might look better padded. Truly classy!
