Why you gotta spread your misfortune? If they used Green Onions for a diaper commercial, I don't wanna see it. I'm gonna stay here having fun, as usual.

That song (green onions) sets the mood for that drag racing scene perfectly. That kind of fim making was way ahead of its time.

Before they built a bunch of houses and a golf course out there, the locals actually used that stretch for street racing- very long and straight- up to the point that they had measured off the 1/4 mile, and painted start and finish lines across the road, complete with a big set of crossed flags and "FINISH" at the finish- nothing but cows & gr*** out there back then. The downhill side where the crash was staged is still open field, golf course is across the road- along with some stop lights

  22. A little trivia for you, the band Booker T @ the MG's had two of the greatest (And unknown) Blues musicians, Steve 'The Colonel' Cropper and Donald 'Duck' Dunn. Both were members of the 'Blues Brothers' band and are featured throughout the film.

    Doc.

  23. Maybe Steve Cropper endorses them?

    Dude.

That's sacrilege. Steve Cropper was the sound of Stax records in the sixties. Pick up any Otis Redding or Wilson Pickett record and he wrote, produced or played on it. He's still in recording to this day. And on topic, he has some killer cars.

I gotta admit, I've watched that movie hundreds of times since the age of 5 years old and I do ***ociate it with street racing every time I hear it. There was a thread somewhere else that I read a few years ago about what song would you hear to put yourself in a "race mood" if you could and "Green Onions" was one of the top ones along with "Lunatic Fringe".

  26. maybe just maybe Falfa will step up and endorse the product ... after the crash
... covering his tracks so to speak

  27. Thank you!! Another true believer!!:D

Sacrilege indeed to sell an instrumental that formative in music to a nappy company!
