i was told sprint works on CDMA. who knows? well i hope ryan does make other app for the blackberry and droid. oh well i guess im not cool enough to have a apple phone, i really love my B-Berry!
Gf's uncle mini rod Junior Brown FTW!!!! I love this app!!!! I will not get any work done!!! Hell yeah!!!!!
They're both based on CDMA, right now, but CDMA phones are locked to the carrier. If the Verizon iPhone winds up being a "4G" phone, then it definitely wouldn't be transferable between the two as Verizon is going to a technology called LTE while Sprint is using WiMAX. For those of you with Android, Blackberry, or Nokia phones, check out an app named "Tapatalk". It's the app that the official Jalopy Journal iOS app is based upon, but is available on the other phone platforms.
So you could technically buy an iphone anywhere, get that SIM card and it would work? I'm guessing not... OR do you have to buy one in Canada to have it be 'unlocked'?
In Canada, Europe, and Asia, you can buy an unlocked phone (at full price, $650-750) from Apple, and then take it to a service provider such as Rogers, Fido, Telus, or Bell so long as the provider uses GSM, which is the technology that uses SIM cards. Verizon uses CDMA, which doesn't use SIM cards. In the US, you can buy an iPhone and then jailbreak the phone so it can unlocked and subsequently used with T-Mobile. Unfortunately, you lose 3G service this way, as T-Mobile uses a different 3G protocol than AT&T. If your service provider uses CDMA (ie; Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, etc.), you're SOL, period. Basically, if you're in the US and want an iPhone, but don't want to use AT&T, you should wait until Verizon gets the iPhone. Supposedly happening "this year", but that's been the standing rumor for the past couple years.
Im in the same boat with Verizon. I think your show picture idea is great, I love this random hot rod life picture thread thing.
Ryan, I hope your servers are ready for the onslaught of pictures instantly streaming out of cars shows!
This is the only on topic pix on my phone. I always used my real camera so I coul post. But now that old mavica is no longer needed
The 261 finally on the assembly bench. Hopefully ready and installed in the fifty before the snow melts! Peter
