Hot Rods SCORED A DEUCE - Still Can't Believe It !!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by daddy_o's_diner, Jan 6, 2011.

  1. I got a new toy today!!!

After finding a steel '34 in July of '10, I thought things couldn't get much better (see thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=492092).

Well, In December I found and bought a deuce!!! I never dreamed I would be lucky enough to own a "real" version of either of these cars let alone both!!! No, I am not a rich man and didn't win the lottery. I was just blessed enough to be in the right place at the right time!!

The car was built in Maine (late '50's) and has a very interesting history. The latest redo of the car was about 15 years ago. I have been lucky enough to to locate and chat with a few people involved in the build of the car.

The build is a little unconventional (yes that is a Chevy parallel spring set up on the front), but was done like this way back in the day. Pontiac Slim here on the HAMB is familiar with the car and called it "a good old boys hot rod" I hate the headlight set up and planing on redoing this and the grill. I've got plenty of ideas and will share some soon.

    :D:D:D

Excellent score. They say good things come in threes, so you might want to spring for a Lottery ticket! ;)

Naaa...nothing to share really. Just "met" him thru the internet a few years back.
    He was a nice guy.

It's a cool car but tight on the inside! Wondered what ever became of it.

Hope you have fun with the old girl...but treat her with respect. :)

I would pick on you*****ie but you never show up anywhere. And since I'm a gentleman I would like to say it to your fat face. :D

Daddy-O I am so excited for you man!!! This thing is a great car and is going to serve you well which ever choices you make with it. Once you get some really good pics of it out side and everything we can start really doing mental builds and maybe some photoshops. Happy for ya man and even though I love your '54 I know one has to go and I wouldn't let the Model 18 and Model 40 out of your grips.

Nice car, I saw it at the CSRA Swap Meet in November. Keep me in mind if you deside to find a new home for the headlights.

A great car with a lot of history. Been yap'n with Dave off and on and I do believe the car has found a good home.....And I'm sure Wayne approves
