Looking good man keep up the great work . Are u trying to have it finished by aney certin time frame ?

  5. Thanks for the compliments. HemiFarris sent me an email with a link to an auction selling generic bed mats. Imma buy one to cover my bedfloors. As for finishing the 59.. As soon as possible! This is a luxury to build myself a car/truck (vehicle).. so I have to start doing the upholstery in the garage, while it's raining. No more bullshittin'!

  6. I got a late start today, but I finished up all the welding on the rockers.. there were a few loose ends, that needed attention. Then I pulled out the dents in the driverside fin! Still learning things!

    Tomorrows another day..

  7. So after thinking about making my own airbag brackets.. it couldn't be any more accessible, w/ the 58 Frame I have in the recycle pile! I can take all my measurements from there and follow my 58 Biscaynes, Air Ride Tech kit.

Anyways.. more boring bodywork today! It was t shirt weather, til the clouds covered the sun. I got the bodywork done on the fin tops, the psngr fin bottom, the t/gate, all blocked and looking good enough for me. Now I have to finish around the tailight area on both sides.

Then I decided to tackle the whl opening issue.. cos something ain't right in Denmark! So I ground everything back down, hammered & dollied a 'lil, then welded what needed to be rewelded. Then I slathered on some Everglass, sanded it & primered before the sun went down.

I just got my air cleaner, today! It needs some love.. but I got some fa' ya! I will measure it for a K&N filter & weld in a bigger choke horn piece, from a generic air/clnr I have laying around! So it will fit the Edl'break carb..

Definitely jealous of the T shirt weather & the nice bright sunshine you have to work in. The Elky is looking better all the time.

  13. The weather is cooling down for the coming week, again. But yeah.. t-shirt weather in January 'Is' nice!

  16. I am a critic and my own worst enemy. So between the two, hopefully I can squeeze out something that passes for ok. That reminds me of a conversation I had with Larry Wickert, while looking at cars at Tuxies(Cruise Nite 2nd Fri. in Riverside since '63). I brought up the negative, about whatever car we were looking at. He brought up the fact, that we can eventually all find something wrong on every car. There's always that something that we would do different. So I try to see the positive.. even if it's 30ft away! Hahaha

Obviously, your patience and persistence have paid off. Your cars are beautiful..... all of them!

  18. I cut up an aftermarket air cleaner base, cos' I needed the bigger opening section. Then measured the depth where I needed to cut the 59s baseplate. Then melted the two, together!

Rare El Camino. I'm 65 years old and I've never seen one. C'mon now you really didn't own one...............

  24. Thanks guys.. Nice to hear, it keeps ya goin' sometimes!

Silver & Red are the fastest fading colors, I've come across. The t/gate has been repainted numerous times, on the Sprint. It sat under my Grandmas carport, 'most' of it's life.. but the t/gate was still in the suns path. They stripped it, an I sprayed the primer.

All these little things are adding up.. But I have to appreciate what's already done!

Working on the doors bottom and the gap, all around.

Still workin on the ass end!

  25. More distractions.. cuttin' up that effin' 57.

Then I put in as much time as I could, on the bodywork. Then you primer it, only to find all the other spots needing attention. Soo much fun!

Hey Jay, Why are you guys cutting up that 57? From the viewpoint of a guy in the middle of the rustbelt, that looks like it was in pretty good shape.

The elky is looking good, won't be long now until it is shiny again.

  28. Keep up the good work Fishy.

  29. Same here.. and thanks!

  30. The 57 was built for the wrong reasons.. it was a complete waste of time. They never have put in all the necessary time, it takes to finish something the right way. The 57 psuedo roadster was something that should've been done preemo! (but, far from it)
