Will a 1968 307 crank work in a 1968 327 motor? I have a 327 that I don't have a crank for and a guy at work just told me his neighbor has a 1968 307 he wants to get rid of for $25. Thanks!!!

It is still buttoned up. I can't get the number until I tear into it.

  5. Yea it will fit just fine, same basic crank same stroke.

  6. just one thing.. i dont know if the crank is a small journal or big same as the 327.. but those are the years than can be a small or big journal crank. a quick measure will tell ya though

All 307s used large journal crankshafts.

    Yep!!! :)

  9. If both blocks came from the facoty with large journal cranks in them then yes they will interchange. $25.00 is cheap grab it.

  10. yeah hell.. at 25 bucks.. grab it.. if it doesn't work a crank makes a great mail box post.... so you are golden as long as your 327 is a later one.. yer good..

Not a problem swapping; same stroke, main and rod throw sizes. BUT, it will be a cast crank, and your 327 crank MAY be a forged crank. Balancing should be done, although it may be close. BNutch/56sedandelivery.

  16. Anything in 1968 was big journal, 307 and 327.
