You just don't sit still!! I can't recall ever seeing a 2 door Chevy wagon that year, wonder what production number was on that? Wasn't the 55 supposed to be a "quick project" at one point? Isn't that how they all start? I'm sure they'll both turn out top notch! Man that Pontiac is sweet.....
Rog I would of thought after doing all that body work you did on the Caddy you would be burnt out,Man that Caddy sure came out nice. These old cars sure are fun.Good luck on your new projects.
Bryan, I've only seen one other...matter of fact, there's one in the cl***ifeds right now...guess that makes two I've seen...yeah, the Caddy was supposed to be a one year build...LOL... Wwanna hear a story about "sitting still"..??? Sure you do, besides, I'm gonna tell it anyway. About a year, or so, ago I got a newsletter from one of my Iowa buddies...featured in it was his friend, he'd had built a really nice jet black '60 Chevy two door...and was driving all over and winning trophies all over, it was that nice a car...so, he finds this '60 Chevy wagon that needs building and about the same time he turned 60 years old...well, to make a long story longer, he decided he was too old to "build" another '60...so he p***ed on it. I sent him a letter telling him that 60 years of age was not too old...and that I was deep into my Caddy build... Last week I got an e-mail from a friend in Fremont, NE, my old stomping grounds, so I told him about the '60 Chevy (and Pontiac) wagons I'd just gotten and I was going to build them...that got p***ed on to my Iowa friend and he e-mailed me and asked for pictures...I sent them and told him to tell his friend that I'm 67 years of age and there ain't no way I'm too old and I'm not going to stop building cars... So to answer your comment...Nope, I do not sit still, whether building cars, designing T-shirts, writing books or going cross country on a rod run...it keeps me young...God willing I'll stay that way for a while longer...!!! R-
must be nice that your son basically beat me up to get the car if you want some history i can give it to you as i know the history of the car for the last 25 years as it was a family friend that i got it from earily 2010
Roger, you'd know it if you drove through Possums Crotch, Kentucky. You can hear the banjo music coming out of the woods and possibly someone squealing like pig. If you p*** that way again stop and say hey.
nice projects. what are your plans for the Brookwood? (it looks kinda cool with the nose up in the air like that.......just sayin)
I love long roofs! Both of them will make kool projects, I can't wait until you guys start working on them. I have some tailights for the sixty if you want them. I replaced mine with '59 Bonneville and have no need for them. I might have a bumper, I bought a '59 Chevy bumper for my 60 and shouldn't need the other one. Just let me know if this helps ya. I quess we can tie on the bumper behind the Caddy this spring. LOL!! You've had the Catalina for a while, I saw it sitting beside the Caddy on a couple of pictures, I was wondering what the plans were going to be.. Roadworthy and low would be kool.. Happy Trails, Mick
Missed this thread! Nice wagons Roger. I'd love to have the Pontiac myself...although a 2 door Chevy version sure would be different!
