its really a tragedy ... I see some guys leave classics on the STREET !?! a dude owns a mach 1 and 2 50s era cars ... leaves them in his drive way with no gate or fence, with only a car cover on them ...

Another guy has a Boss and he sometimes leaves it around the corner from his house on the street with no cover... its baffling... i NEVER leave my ride on the side walk...

hope they catch the bastards stealing cars though

BTW - the woman that had the '59 stolen had a garage (shot of it in the news clip), but she kept her "beloved Chevy" outside with a car cover on it. I'm not feeling sorry for this idiot, because if you love a car that much and it means that much, clean the crap out of the garage and put it in there! I know that is no guarantee of safety, but it is out of site, so less likely to get and more of a challenge for thieves...Oh, and LoJack...very good to have on something that is irreplaceable. I even have it on my 1988 Honda!

i thought it was good... seems people are coming out around 8pm.

Corkys 5pm-10pm happy hour is awesome

40 bucks worth of food for only 20...4 of us went 5 bucks a piece... very good deal very good prices.

the muscles are all in the Ralphs parking lot like i said before so after corkys i went to ralphs and thats where people mingle now..

  10. My Cruising days on Van Nuys Blvd were from 1969 to 1974.
First ride was a 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix lowered, Second ride was a 1967 Pearl White Shelby GT 500, Third was a 1932 Purple Ford 3 window coupe, Fourth was a 1969 428 Cobra Jet. I did it all Low Rider to Street Racer.
If you didn't have the ride, you never got the women!
IT WAS COOL BACK IN THE DAY

  17. I'm thinking of planning a trip to the Valley this June to see my son & grandson. They have never seen the 56. Good reason to go. Cruise VN Blvd with son & grandson.

Use to be cruise nights were Wed, Fri, & Sat nights. Is it just on Wed nights now?

Next month cruise night is on Feb 9th...Exactly 100 years after this photo was taken..Approximately Van Nuys & Oxnard today...The railroad is now the Orange Line bus way...The second picture shows how it didn't take long for cruising to start...

Yeah, and February 9 is the anniversary of the 1971 Sylmar Earthquake that rocked So Cal at 6:01 am. I remember it as if it was yesterday!

are you talking about stars drive in in canoga park ? ?

seems like the bulk of people are starting to come out starting at 7:30pm ... ralphs gets packed at 8pm.

a dude in a 72 el camino told me ... "you know we bitch about the cars with 40 tv's in them and the low riders with the loud ass music but the fact of the matter is they are CONSTANTLY coming out every month and thats what will keep this alive."
