Cool shot! Got any photos of the Steinberg, Hayes, & Riley '33 Willys pickup? I've only seen one action shot of the truck, and one shot of with one of the guys standing next to it. I also haven't seen but a couple photos of the Edmisson Bros. '33 Willys pickup. There weren't too many of these little trucks......not even back in the day!

No more of Steinberg's pu, but here's a pretty rare article on the Edmisson Bros truck. It's from 1001 Custom & Rodding Ideas, Winter 71.

In my opinion, the prettiest 33 Willys pick up ever built..might be the fastest too...I heard it ran in the 8.20's forty years ago!

Cool shots guys. Thanks for posting them.

Rocky, that shot of the Hart 33 Racing Big Wilson's Austin is pretty rare. Thanks for posting.

If you've seen 1001 Ideas article, you've probably seen the Hot Rod article. But just in case...

Here's the only picture I've seen of Steve McGee's car when it was black with green flames. There's a brief shot of it on the Jackson Bros gasser video, but I'd love to find some nice color pics of it.

Here's an original ad from Colliers magazine. It shows John North Willys introducing the new '33 Willys or, as they called it, the "New Era Car". This was a two page ad and it barely fit my scanner. First we get the color picture. On page two it has the specs. I couldn't get the bottom of the page to show but the price is quoted as being from $395 to $475. Yes, I believe I'll take a few at that price....lol Enjoy!

  27. Awesome thread! I wish I had more time. I have scrapbooks filled with this stuff. I saved all Willys magazine articles and car features long before the internet was a glint in Al Gore's eye. Just don't have much time for scanning.

Well, Rocky, sorry for the correction...but...the Bizio truck ran 8.80's and maybe it went slightly quicker at some point, but it never went 8.20's. It was fast though. But hey, disregard this message because the internet is where history is completely rewritten, heroes are made, and the truth be damned! LOL!
By the way, nice web site! Later buddy!
