I'll make a mental note of that!

I'm sure by that time I'll have my own wheel in my hands so maybe we'll be cruising duo.

Except, Tommy brought the '55 from the states. I'm pretty sure that's what he told me.

Great pics and cars ! Gotta ask what that Bronze hardtop car is about midway thru the show pics. Hood is up and has a 724 license number.

That is an Australian Charger. Chrysler Valiant. That one runs a 265ci HEMI Straight 6.

That is a great event. The South West Street Rodders that run the event have been doing a great job for many years. 2012 will the the 30th year of that event. An event I never miss.

    Great photos by the way.

  11. Didnt know that was your old coupe Steve, good to see that Dave still owns the roadster, does anyone know if it still runs the 460 , that thing used to haul ass. Is that really Pixie,s sloper? Last I heard from that car it was smashed up real bad and from the photos I saw looked beyod repair. Big hello to Tony Cassar ....been a long time.

Great photos and some damn nice looking cars. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe not the coolest car there hamb-wise, but I actually dig that '63 vette. I'd roll around all day in that for sure.

Yes, Dave is still running the 460 and Yes, it still Hauls ass!!

Yep, Dixie's old car was in a bad smash but 'Fergie' I believe, beaterd her up to how she is at present. Fergie then sold the car to another fellor who owns it now.

I'll say it again, The Roadster runs like a raped ape with the 460!!

  17. You forgot to mention the fire hydrant we ran over on the way thru
....water everywhere and flooded out some shops and a stone masons that made headstones! After the cops, fire brigade and water board had left we snuck back and towed it away ... no one had noticed the smashed up roadster in the shadows 100 meters away, they all thought some dude had run over the fire hydrant and kept going!

Don't know if that is Pix's old sloper but if it is it's only a shadow of its former self. I notice Fergie in one shot chatting with Dave so I guess all the pieces of the puzzle are there.

Funny thing Steve, I thought that was Hoey's old 55 too.

It's yours mate. He's still finishing it, but she's on the road.He did the seat in green canvas and gave it B24 Liberator seat belts. Looks the goods. I flung him a Boeing B17 data plate for the firewall: it's that sort of hotrod.

    Cheers, Matt

Not to take away from HeyyCharger as he posted some great photos and mine are not as good as his. You need a better photo host website HeyyCharger.

I posted some of my photos of the event in a new topic >

Hi Folks, the pale yella & white '55 coupe ain't my old one. I sold mine in early nineties so I could afford to live in Mortgageville (not recommended) & fund my '33 roadster project which I hope to get back into during the year. I sold my 55 to a guy in NSW who had a matching color combo 55 Nomad. the Port Fairy 55 coupe belongs to my amigo Tom & it is clean. My bro Dave bought Turtle's roadster in the mid '80's....way back before retro/nostalgia or whatever it's called this week was in vogue & it was/is one tough ride. Dave a.k.a G Man recently puth the car back on the road after completing a full rebuild from tip to tail. I'm sure certain the Gestapporodders have picked up up on the fact that it still sports a 4 bar front & rear (yeah, big deal, yawn). Having recently come off the dyno I too can confirm that G Man's roadster goes like a stabbed rat. Thanx Steve for posting the photo's of 80's Melbourne rods. In fact any one out go any more photo's early style 80's Melb Rods. Steve Dowsett's scalloped B Roadster, Pixie's 40, Tim Lee's T, Turtle's yellow 35 w whitewalls & moon discs, Tony Cassar's '36 roadster, what about the hot rod show with all the hemi powered rod's, Mick Cheg's Custom Chev &......don't start me talking
