Who has a dual intake on a Flathead 6 cylinder? Can I see some pictures?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by patchen1, Jan 14, 2011.

  1. I am starting to put my Flathead Ford 6 Cylinder together and was wondering what other peoples intakes looked like and how they ran their setups.

    Thanks

Not mine but I wish I had the whole intake and exhaust setup on the Flathead six I have.

That setup was in a little Ford shoebox that was at the East/West No Overheads run last fall.

The above photos were taken at the East/West No Overheads run at Vantage Wa.

  3. Here is mine ! man it moves my 49 Ford Coupe really good... Thanks again to Russ( selling me this engine) and Thunfield Rod & Custom( for installing it for me) ! should have kept my Edmunds Head and matching intake for my tired flathead six, but after buying this engine... needed some cash back.

  4. Red's Header's makes a Ford flathead six header now. The guys at Thunfield had to do some work on it but it looks great. I'm running dual straight two inches exhaust out back. Till I get a ticket, them may install Porter's glass packs.

Great thread! I am in the same boat as Patchen1, but flatheads are totally new to me. I have been back and forth between using the Flat 6 that I got with my 50 ford or making the switch to a SBF.

Thanks to the current Flat 6 guys for posting pics! If there are anymore out there keep em coming......

  6. very torque engines, were popular with some midget cars back in the day. Didn't produce the HP as a Flathead V8. The torque was better on the flathead sixes. Whick I was told made them good on the tracks.
