Projects '35 Sedan Delivery. Don't tell me what it's worth, tell me what you think!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mctim64, Jan 16, 2011.

  1. Not a "What's it worth" thread cause I'm gonna get it. ;) I guess this will be my next project, it's a 1935 Sedan Delivery (not a panel truck) and it was offered to me for trade on my labor from a guy that I have been building engines for his wood boat collection for the last few years. As you can see it's a bit rough but I think there is a lot there in potential. It has all the pieces except the engine and he does have an old military surplus Flathead that I think I could talk him out of. :D

Anyway let me know what you think, maybe even post some pix of other "Deliveries" to give me ideas.

Bigredtodd went with me to check it out and even he thought it was a neat find. ;)

  2. Here's some pix of the Flathead. Thought it was a bit unusual, a military surplus engine from WWII. Check out the heads and the place for water ports in the back of the block for marine aplication.

...so that's rough huh?...you gotta be kidden!

  5. No, if you look close someone has spliced a new lowersection and firewall in. It's not even welded together yet.

  6. Yeah, I know. I've seen a lot worse too. A lot worse! :p

  10. Looks like a neat project . Lot a work but not a common body style either so well worth the effort.

I think it is to rough to finish.I could haul it away for you cheap. No need taking up garage space with something that rough.

  15. Realy? Cheap huh, how much would you charge? I might just call you if it gets in the way. Don't hold your breath though. lol :p

Looks like someone stripped the paint then let it sit, looks like light surface rust, they should have separated it at the factory seam above the door. Buddy of mine has a 36' waiting in the wings ,love the body style!

Good find and CA sheetmetal. Weld the front back on and you will have a nice ride. Here is a 36 I saw at Bakersfield. The same bodies but different front sheetmetal.

The holes in the back of the block are not for water.
    They're oil holes.
You can put water in there if you want, but it won't last long.

  22. Not the two on the left but the ones in the end of each bank with a plug in them.

    Great score.
I just found this 1 in Oklahoma 2 weeks ago
Only had 2 small caliber bullet holes in it.
Still had some of the OG paint and pinstripe on it

Too bad the engine is a 21-studder. I wouldn't give a lot for it unless you want to try to make it back by trying to trade it to a restorer who has a 59A in a 37-38.
