Very cool theres a Chris Craft show this year on Grand Lake, Colorado Im going for sure,i too will own one some day,My cabin is only 4 miles from Grand Lake , but 1 block from lake Granby I have heard that the great granddaughter of the founder of Chris Craft lives up there ?? theres a few for sale up now , but now is not the time for me ?
nice! let me know if you need any parts, my buddy restores wood boats and has a bunch of chris craft stuff.
true true...look into the restoration costs of a wood boat sometime....bout $100,000 to get mine done....if I'm dropping that kind of coin I'm gonna be damn sure its 100% perfect and I can have top resale when I move onto something else....plus it was always a goal to restore one with my grandfather....kinda doing this in his memory....he was a perfectionist when it came to this kinda thing....ill stick to chopping cars....besides I have 6 other projects to finish before the boat
Aw come on. Anyone can restore a boat. It takes a real man to cut one up! Sorry couldn't resist. That's a damn nice boat!
True I have cut up rarer stuff.....ah what ru gonna do....got it in my mind I want a concours quality boat
That made me laugh! I grew up in MN and have seen alot of old CC's but I have never seen one like yours and I think its amazing. Please keep us updated of the restoration. Be careful if you haven't done this before they can be overwhelming.
wow im not boat guy but would love to tow this with my 47 i thinking matching paint and trailer with matching rims and hubcaps that thing is beautiful i wonder how many gems like this are gone and forgotten
Oh man...now that I am living on a Lake I need to add that to my wish list (along with a long lost relative to leave me some ca$h!) Super cool I love those things...used to own a little deli in Lake Tahoe and used to sneak away to check out the wooden boat festival they had every year
Nice I`d give my right arm for that one. I`m a woodenboatbuilder and restorer, please feel free to ask any questions I`m glad to help This is on topp off my wish list yours are a good second...
Nope, Century, this one was just as bad if not worse and needed 'everything to make this into the best Coronado in the country, It`s also a 'Detroit Autorama show first place in the boat classes....I should have burned the SOB in the fireplace but I had to have it because of the engine and almost at any cost....
I wouldnt call it off topic it is kind of an old hot rod and you will have to use some of the info from this site to restore her. should be a real beauty when done. GOOD LUCK.
well after about 10 months of waiting its finally home and ready for the long road of restoration...its missing a bunch of chrome and has a chrysler engine but im in love with it
super sweet boat! definitely a labor of love. congratulations and good luck restoring the b.o.a.t. (bust out another thousand) always well worth it though imho. wood boats are sexy...
bust out another thousand doesnt even begin to cover i...i wont talk actual numbers but its going to be over $100k
I can't stop looking at that thing...what an incredible design. It looks like a '40 Ford steering wheel in it.
