I have a set of those, but both have one of the bosses opened up for an oil fill cap. I bought mine at NAPA in the early 80's.

I just seen a ad in a 1955 Hot Rod for some cool Nicson Air Cleaners. I'll post those in a bit!

I sold a set of Ferrari look alike valve covers for the SBC last year after having them in my loft for 25 years. AI fiberglass had them in their show room for several years before I bought them. Dave gave me a deal just to get rid of them.:D only a few fins down the center similar to these. I've never seen another set.

Thanks was worried I butchered up some rare part mine had the holes as well but filled this side & added breather tubes to the otherside for roundy round racing thanks. Ps my coolness factor is that Richard Ruth did the mods.....

A few months ago someone here on the HAMB was taking orders for repop Fenton headers. Do a search and see if you find the seller.

I gotta get a set of those Fenton's for my '54 eventually. Those are pretty cool.

  12. A couple of year ago there were two or three of those as cast in the classifieds. They may have been repops but I don't think so.

    Pretty cool.

Here's those Nicson Air Cleaners that were advertised for the New Chevy V8 in a 1955 HRM. they are probably universal but the fact that they were mentioned for the SBC makes the relevant for the thread right? Features two Stellings air cleaners at the ends.

Great thread, made me remember back twenty years when you could go to Stafford Springs or Thompson and see this stuff on swap meet tables! With regard to Smokey Yunich cross ram, I bought a '55 Chev sedan delivery in the 80s, had one in the back but the top plate was for three webers, sort of angled across the top. So my understanding was there were three options for the top plate, one four, two fours and the three webers.
On another thread some time ago I mentioned finding a George Pounden small block Chevy magneto. These were Wico tractor mags, fiber and brass gears, with an aluminum cast housing. These were made pre-'57 according to George who I found through Hemmings. He said he went in hospital for respiratory issues in '57 and never made another small block mag. Ignition is still in New England, I sold it to a great guy with a super duece coupe who will run it with the Man-A-Fre I sold him also

  19. Found this picture on an auction site...In 1965 I ran a Scott Fuel Injection system on my C/Gasser, only a few of this SBC injection were ever made. No idea what the pump in the picture fits..not a Scott pump. System ran well after I learned how to tune it..Wish I had it back!

Are you talking about the Inglese valve covers? I have a couple of sets, both perimeter style and center bolt style. I ground the Inglese name off and customized one set, another set had the name ground off already.

I have an older R&C that re-ran an old cover showing a Hemi-head conversion for sbc's from the early 60's. Apparently a small num,ber were built, but kept blowing up until a chrysler engineer pointed out that they would need another head bolt to keep it all together. They made a few more sets, but there was a real high cost of machining for the extra bolt. I don't remember the name, and I dont have a scanner, but if I can get the name I'll post it up. They were wild looking, finned heads and finned valve covers. The guy ran them with a blower and was an animal.

When Chevrolet reintroduced the power pack 283 in 1965 for the Chevelle and Chevy II there was a factory chrome engine dress up package as an option . It included these chrome valve covers, chrome fuel line, air cleaner, dipstick and dipstick tube along with a few other goodies.

  28. There were intake manifolds made by 'Man-A-Free' and 'Crower U-Fab' that were, I think, 6X2-bbl. I don't have pictures of them.

I'd like to get pictures of them for my picture collection.

Moser heads are a rare and exotic SBC bolt-on.
