I finally got around to making a hood for my truck this week. But I can't decide if I should have a single row of 3 or 4'' louvers on both side piece or keep it smooth. So I thought I'd ask the HAMBers. I'm tired of lookin' at it. Louvers Ya or Nay?
The ratchet straps are just holding it in place for the photos. Thanks, ahead of time.

Cool truck! If it were mine I'd probably go with louvers.

I think it could use some louvers to break up the space a bit. I guess you're probably not going to drive it in the rain a hell of a lot anyway.

I'm a fan of louvers. How would you lay them out?

I say go for it, but I'd run them on the top only, aligned front to back. Maybe a row on each side just before the hood rolls over and then another couple rows up in the middle, angled like the ones on each side. Just my opinion.

GREAT ride. If it were mine, I would put a row of wide louvers on the driver's side of the hood and none on the sides...if you are not running hood sides.

Looks like 100% for louvers. No smooth fans out there? Thanks for responding.

How about one row of wide louvers on each side with a 1/2" wide rolled bead along the bottom edge and a blister style scoop over the carb

    Thanks, I'll pm you.

Probably just a single row of 4'' on each side piece.

This is what I was thinking. I'm going two run two Stromberg 81s so a blister scoop would work great. Not sure what you mean about the rolled bead.

Louvers: rods = yes, kustoms = no.

  26. Punch it out on the top only.

The rolled bead I was trying to describe is like the bead on the bottom edge of a 33/34 ford truck hoodside. It would add a little design detail while also stiffening the lower edge.

2 rows down the center of the top and a row on each side.my 2 cents worth. It will look good any way you decide.
