Someone on the HAMB actually using the word "provenance" in a sentence. Amazing the effect BJ has on people!

The '54 Chevy seemed alittle odd on the auction. Had a bid at $35 and asking for $50. Nothing happening then a bid at $40,000 and nothing more. Would question if it sold.

I love how the auctioneers berate the bidders for not bidding "what the cars are worth." Seems to me that the buyers are determining what they're worth. One of the announcers earlier this evening actually said he had a car just like the one for sale and so he knew it was "worth a lot more." No conflict of interest there.

It sold, no reserve auction, I thought at least 75k for it if not more.

Kind of sad when a piece of fairly notable and respectable piece of art worked on by several legends like the JJ '54 goes for only $40.5K while boring brain dead restored muscle car after another easily drops $150-200K. Pathetic really. A bunch of people with a lot of money but no imagination or creativity.

Seems like a lot of stuff is going cheaper than expected, but then again a lot of stupid shit is bringing stupid money.

No reserve doesn't necessarily mean sold. The owner can bid. Take note when they don't show the buyer signing the sheet on a cheap car.

It was a comment referring to the hidden radio under the speaker grill and how the piece was customized to hide it.

Two 427's in one auction? Wowzer.

edit: did he just call it a "crammer" the first time? Even I know how to pronounce cammer when I see it written on a piece of paper.

  29. No TV at the ranch and we dont get his comments online, I made that up for him. I was nice, I could have gotten really creative;)
