Son of a.....:D That skinny kid is me! Must have been Indy '69 as we went over to the Hurst Doctor area and got that piece of aluminum made up to put contingency stickers on. Thanks for that pic, it made my day.

Anybody got any more pics of the Ambition 33 Willys that aren't the same handful that have already been plastered all over the net? I'm trying to find some new ones. Or how about some photographers who shot back then that actually want to sell their stuff?

Quit trying to get this thread shit canned! The photos I posted of the '33 Willys models aren't as off topic as your Barbie dolls...(unless you have one riding around in a pink '33 Willys...do you?)...and Mark did ask me to post them up. Maybe you should shut up and go back to playing with your dolls...........or you could just post some '33 Willys pics up like these instead.

(Sorry if any of these are a repost)

And I still have most of that hair and that M&H t-shirt. Must have been before Crane Cams gave us all star t-shirts. Still have them too. :D

You was that skinny ? :)

  8. Doug, you ask about the third car in the set. It is a STREET ROD built by John Zechbauer from Minnesota and has changed hands 2,3, maybe 4 times since. Why it has "Ohio George" markings on it is anybodys guess. The REAL "Ohio George" 1933 WILLYS is in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI and has been there pretty much since it left the N.H.R.A. Museum in Pomoma

Nice contribution to the thread. You're just making more work for the modertator who has to delete that nonsense.

I have a question for you guys who lectured me about "tradition".... Where were you in March 1966? I was at Bakersfield.

Hey Scott. Before I found my old steel coupe, I was considering one of your bodies. Looks like you have a really nice product at a reasonable price.

    Mark,

Thanks for posting the pic of my K.S. Pittman tribute car. This was the final round of the 2009 Thompson AA/GS race. The Hemi J was the car to beat that day and it took the big starting line advantage for the S&S / Pirrone and Ellershaw team to win the event. We were fielding three cars that weekend in three different Nostalgia classes. Fred Bear qualified the K.S. car high in the field and won the first round while I was driving my funny car and Dave Cobb's Flashback 33 Willys. Here's a photo of the winner's circle....!

More important than the cars, its the people that make nostalgia drag racing the great sport it is. There is a couple of hundred years of combined racing experience in this pic.....not to mention some of the true legends of drag racing and some of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure to call friends. It was without a doubt one of the most enjoyable weekends I ever had in racing....

    Rocky,
I can tell you from the grandstand point of view that was a GREAT day. That was some of the most exciting racing that i have ever been part of. Fred did a great job with the K.S. car. There were alot of the S&S family members doing some shouting that day.

    Wanda,

Having you and Larry at the races always make for a good time. Its always a lot of fun running the cars, but when its a "Open" field with true competition (i.e. Qualifying etc..) it really makes for a special event. Its neat to see EVERYONE get into the spirit of the competition. I'm looking forward to do it some more in 2011.....

Mark I love this shot of the car as well, I have just got back from a
660 mile round trip to reunite Al Hamberis with his old Willys,
very emotional meeting some great tales from back in the day
    what a nice man,
    Paul
