I love the story's about Willys that have survived or pictures before and after. I am fascinated reading about cars, drivers, owners and their history. I have some old pictures of Willys before and after that I plan to share as soon as I find them. A big thanks to all that have contributed to this thread.

    Dave,
I probably shouldn't post this because it will make alot of people cry or scream. There is a junk yard here in Maine that had a 1941 willys coupe in it and the old guy cut it up because it was in the way!!!! True story. He told us himself when we were there one day. We got the frame that was under it but the car was gone. You should have seen the look on my husbands face. I thought the old guy was going to mysteriously dissapear.:D:D

Here's one that's been around for a while. I don't know the owner's name, but I think the car's been around since the late 60's or early 70's. I remember seeing pictures of it from the 1994 gasser event in Denver, while it was still blue. Then apparently, it's was painted a candy orange more recently. If I remember right, I think I found the orange car pics from a track in New Mexico. Looks like it's still going strong.

    Pat:

You made my day with that one. Jim Rhea's car was awesome. I started another thread, but I was trying to find R F Bissell. I'm not sure if he's still alive or not, but I know he shot a lot great gasser stuff.

Rocky and Kevin.....Looking at these three pics. They all look like the Bourgeous and Wade Automotive A/Gas pickup owned by Jim Shores and ???? Duncan. Driven by Dick Bourgeous in the first photo at the 1963 NATIONALS. That Willys was a strong runner, and former NHRA National Record Holder. I don't know when or where the last pic was, but I wonder where it is now.

I have now. I think that's only the second picture that i've seen of it with the green wheels. I still think it's ironic that the other driver's name was larry.
