Thanks Trent. The original idea was to hold a big whacky underground street race, but this doesn't make my publisher (and bail bondsman) so nervous and should appeal to a wider audience. So I'm after people involved in a wide variety of motorsports. C'mon, nobody from Poland is running at the 24 hours of LeMons? Where's all the Brazilian lawn mower racers?!

Scotty, if you do this you really need to travel to see how it all starts with the car going into a container to be shipped and all the paperwork before it all happens prior to arrival in the USA.

Simon: I agree, that would be the best way to do it. The reality is, I have no travel budget at all. So unless everyone offers to pay my way over and back, they'll have to supply me with the info and photos of their preparation and what happens after they return home. That's how I've done the last two books and it's worked out well, although I would prefer to be there in person. Can't have everything I guess - but I'm just honored to write these people's stories. This makes me one of the lucky few who get to what they're passionate about for their living.

I'm getting some cool European, Aussie, Kiwi and Canadian stories, but no Asian, South American or others yet. How 'bout it, guys? I know you're out there...

So, anyone building a Hemi powered Messerschmidt with plans to run Drag Week? You got a diesel propelled '61 Datsun bound for the Silver State Challenge? There MUST be a curmudgeon hermit somewhere with an Allison in a Doodlebug, just itching to get over here for some hillclimbing action - maybe you plan to strap it to a dozen empty oil drums and row your way over? This is your shot at immortality (that's even more than 15 minutes)...

Well, this thread had some momentum for a while, but apparently the word is now out to everyone, I guess. I now have about a dozen race teams interested, mostly thanks to this thread - thanks everybody!!!
Again, feel free to post here or PM me if you or someone you know is interested. And thanks again to all of you for your time. I really appreciate it.

Lifestylz - Looks like we'll eventually have enough for a book, if people keep trickling in at this rate. So far, about a dozen are committed and they're very interesting.

Nick: Thanks! Got your PM and will check into this.

Doc: If I ever sell enough books to finance such a trip, I'd love to do that someday! Been on my list for many years...

Dry here but not in my home town and I believe my old home could get water in it this time.

Hope the information I sent you helps. They may also know of others. What about Roadster Ute as they send Bodies from here to the US all the time.

I can help you with a contact for him as well.
