I've just stumbled across this forum:
    http://www.raceny.com/smf2/index.php?topic=2600.0

which has a mixed bag of vintage photos of racing cars.
There are some modifieds sprinkled throughout, although the majority seem to be those cars that look like the result of giving an erector set to a chimpanzee on acid.

Ones that interested me, and which I don't believe have been seen here before:

At Victoria Speedway - a very rare circuit for Ed.

Another by Claychamp, Langhorne '71. He believes it's Bernie Miller, but I would have said Leo Cleary.

I beleive you are correct. I think it IS Leo Cleary. Bernie Miller never drove the car in that photo

A friend of mine crewed for Dick Fowler, from New Hartford, NY back in the late 60s - early 70s & was wondering if anyone has any current info on Dick. He ran the Upstate, NY asphalt circuit back then. Any help?

This guy was always fun to watch, especially at East Winsor.

Stupid question time....For you guys that used to build these cars, back before all the fancy tube benders like they have these days. How did to bend the corners on the top of the cages and on the front and rear bumpers? I presume most of that roll cage material was black pipe? Gene

Some cars has square tube roll cages. A local car used 90 degree elbows welded to scheduled 80 black pipe. For the bumpers and rub rails, trees and if you knew someone with a conduit bender.
