We spent a lot of Saturday afternoons at the movies. I remember a group of us going one weekend, not knowing what was playing. We were probably ten or eleven years old at the time. We were ready to cross the street to buy tickets and we were met by another kid from our town. He said, "You can't go in, they're paintin' the place"
Obviously the management was not letting little kids in to see this one

Don't know how many Ramblers were raced at Baja that year, but only a few pictured above are SC/Ramblers. I know that Garner had 10 SC/Ramblers but must have had some Rogues that were converted also.

Looks like the illustrators for the 39 Plymouth brochure took a bit of artistic liscence with the roof lines. Wonder if they would have sold if produced this way??

Now, for the history buffs. If you want to see how women who posed with cars really looked "back in the day", here's some documentation. Not to start anything. I'm just sayin' .....:D

This '57 teen drive-in flick got a young, pre-
Kookie Edd Byrnes a leg up on a long movie
and TV career. Hey, lend me your comb?

Toby, I have to ask: HOW is this poor sumbitch s'posed to get
his feeler gauge in there and adjust his points when this lady's
points are distracting him? Huh??? LOL

Plym46, I agree totally. AND look at the apparent wheelbase!
These look more like the way Hayes would have done it, instead
of through Briggs. The production cars were not exciting. I still
hate the headlight treatment, the hood needed a taper, and
going back to a two-piece windshield was a step in the wrong
direction. Imagine a curved windshield! (BTW, this was the LAST
    U.S. rumble-seat auto.)

    It's a Checker.

  19. Maybe those 390's weren't really 390's. [IMG]

Jimi, as super-six says, "Checker". Caption was a 1940 Checker model A. I had not seen a photo of one previously. Thought it was pretty fancy for a taxi. :)

Yes, it looks good (if this is the one you refer to) - http://lh6.ggpht.com/_i2YZmZXB_AA/S...igny+st+maclou+samedi+26+avril+2008+(103).JPG.

I love the lines of the 402, and the convertible [IMG].
Actually, I was surprised noboby noticed the original heater/demister unit. A neat style, I thought.
