Due to family matters, a trip to Michigan was necessary the 3rd week of Jan, 2011. A side trip was made to 'Cruisin Customs' to get a T shirt. In a conversation with John, the owner, mention was made of a 57 that I sold in Holland in 1974. John got a big smile and knew exactly the car I was talking about. He pulled some pix up on the computer - sure enough, it was my old 57. He recently went through it and is now as the pix show. This 57 was purchased in Miss in 1972 while I was in the Air Force, then drove it PCS, to Calif. It was a 150 from the factory - I always regretted changing the chrome trim.
Sweet! Nice to hear your old ride is doing well! You should post up some pics from when you 1st had it....
It was west of Biloxi, near Gulfport if my memory serves me correctly. The car was yellow with black pinstriping; had a teardrop hood scoop that was mounted backwards. There was a BelAire front end on it with the BA chrome. The 150 chrome was still on the rear sides. Had a rebuilt 283 with the old 3 speed. Someone had owned it, before the person I got it from, and he worked at a Chevy dealership.
To each their own , but , I think it only enhances the car to have the Belair chrome on it , I cant see why you wish you woulda left the 150 stuff on it , much nicer the way it is , IMHO.
