This is my wife's new/first hot rod. It is a 29 model a coupe on a 32 frame chopped 5 inches in the front and 4 in the back. It has a 350 chevy and a 700 R4 transmission, 8 in ford rearend and a dropped I beam front end. She is very excited about it ready to drive it this spring. I am hopping this gets me off the hook for anniversary presents, birthday, Christmas and any other holidays that i have forgot hopefully for the next five years. It sounds good but i am sure that wont happen. We ran out of room in my hot rod a 34 coupe not alot of room to begin with. So had to get another one so we can take are 3 kids out to the shows this summer.
I bought my wife a 53 Studebaker Coupe for Mothers Day one year...yeah...slammed it, shaved it, painted it red...it was boss...had to sell it this year to keep our daughter in college...at least it went to a good home, the guy who owns the front engine Top Fuel dragster I crew on bought it...and it went to sunny SoCal so it should stay pristine.
Found new/old parts for my wifes model a. A guy 30 miles away from me has had this hanging in his building since the 50's he ran it on a 30 model a roadster which he still has. It has very cool patina on it should look right at home on her coupe
Very nice PJ. Is she gonna drag race it in Salina? And one more thing.....is that black dog taking a dump in that one photo? WTF????
I had a really good weekend at the wichita swap meet, picked up these E & J headlights there. I have been looking for a set of them for a long time. Now my wife likes them so i guess they are going to go on her car. I am looking for a lens for one of them and one little brass round thing with the screw in the middle, that keeps the headlight together. Hopefully there is something out there. If anyone knows of anything please let me know Thank You.
I stopped by to look at those yesterday in the afternoon but you weren't around. They look way cool. You know they repop those now but not sure about the glass lens.
I wish my wife was as lucky as your's! I'd LOVE for her to have one of those parked in our driveway! Congratulations!
My wife has really been enjoying driving it around. I had to make a few changes so it was drivable for her. It no longer has two fours on it. I installed the 32 grille which looks really nice on it. I will try to post some new pictures of it sometime soon. She is excited to take it out to shows this summer, looking forward to the KKOA show in Salina. She wants to drag race it there. I want to thank poverty flats for donating a pair of block letter edelbrock aluminum valve covers to my wife for the model a. I haven't put them on yet but Thank You
